Which event would you prefer

Ok, I've edited the poll so that you can cancel your vote if you want.

I like the idea of the rookie tournament, but the Friction World Cup is a great event idea. I wasn't able to properly participate in the previous one but I hope I can take part in a new one.

Re: Mini Event
I feel like the world cup concept needs to be cleared up on. Tats old rules differ from what we were being told in trillian group chat last night. Especially the mention of a tournament alongside it/after it.
Alot are jumping on the idea because it can easily involve everyone. A tournament involving a small select group completely defeats that purpose.

Re: Mini Event
I'll agree with that. Because the old Friction World cup was initially something of a free for all with people being selected afterwards, if people are being selected to start with that changes things.

Re: Mini Event
In the interest of transparency, I'll go ahead and say that doing the FWC was my idea. I'm tossing around some different ideas and speaking to different people about things. Nothing is set in stone yet, but I'll say ahead of time that it would be one person from a country in the main tournament.
Obviously, that would bring with it some exclusion on who I could and would pick for the main event. Right now, I'm considering whether it would be an eight man or sixteen man thing - the former would be easier to manage and more likely to be finished in a timely manner but would leave out a lot of people who might like to jump in, the latter would include a lot of people but run longer and have more stumbles along the way. I'm also obviously going to be more inclined to using people I know can be reliable and finish things. I wouldn't be for using someone who, say, has only been around for a month or two and hasn't completed a topic yet, for instance - not a slight against said person. The last time we did this, I couldn't get in for the same reason.
I'd like to keep the thing Tat did on the side. Again, nothing is set in stone, and if we do this, I'll take my time to set it up - it's not going to start next week, or even next month, but likely before Spring.
Just throwing all that out there for people deciding. A lot is still in the air, and if you have questions/suggestions, please contact me.

Re: Mini Event
So just to sum things up, we will be doing a tally of all complete topics for those countries (Which everyone can take part in?) and also do a tournament as well (which will be exclusive to a number of people due to limitations)?

Re: Mini Event
Made a few modifications to my original post.
Like I said, there are a lot of things that are in flux right now, about how it would go. The tally of complete topics is the core, that will be in regardless and every is included.
I want to do a main thing in the middle of it that would include some people in a multi-man competition, though the question is the nature of that.
One idea that kelsea and I are discussing is a battle royale, so I'd like to discuss that - how does that sound to people?

Re: Mini Event
I like the FWC idea a lot, enjoyed the first one, would love a crack at the second one.
The idea of a rookie character tournament is appealing. I myself have a rookie character, and I'm sure a couple other experienced vets have one or two as well, so you could get a mix of newer players mingling with older ones in a match where either side could win, and the old could advise the new.
The creampuff tournament...I get we got a lot of people here who love jobbing enough to do that, I just don't understand what the in-story reason is. What character, in story, says "I wanna be a loser!" and how do you even reward that!?
Hardcore tourney seems decent.
What's this about a trillian chat group?
