Manager Information
Hikaru is simply put; whatever he damn well needs to be. From a strictly backstage motivational speaker, to a in-ring persona created to both wile the crowd or turn them against him, Hikaru simply fills whatever role is required. He has a extreme knowledge of the inside workings from the wrestling business itself, to terminology, to the very holds he sees applied before him in the ring. He can be a friend to the softer folks, to a hype man to the rougher women. He will never back from speaking the honest truth, no matter how hard said truth can be, no matter how tall or brutish the figure is he must deliver it to, as it is only extremely rarely that Hikaru is ever wrong. The only role Hikaru will flat out refuse, is that of a interfering manager; Hikaru considers the fact that if he is required to interfere in the match directly, fair or otherwise, he has failed his role.
Profile
Personality: Given his adaptability and ability to switch between whatever is required of him in his role, Hikaru's true personality can be somewhat hard to pin down. The only traits that persevere through his many adaptations are his commitment to the job, his often brutal honesty, and his almost insatiable appetite to know whatever there is to know about whatever topic becomes relevant to his job. It is rare that Hikaru will not lend an open ear when it is required, and often even it is not, and has never been known to be a man to not repay favours. Given his disability, he is caring when he comes across those of similar physical hindrance; albeit will rarely help those who will not help themselves.
History: Hikaru is the very definition of a wrestling fan. Even from an early age, the boy lived and breathed the world of sports entertainment, attending countless local shows with his siblings in rural Japan. Born of a somewhat non-stereotypical Japanese family, Hikaru's mother and father were the breed of parents that encouraged their children's happiness over the pursuit of wealth, success or otherwise; denoting levels of success only by the length of smile across their children's faces.
It was no surprise from that, that the Furutani parent's were extremely supportive of their middle son's engagement in physical contests at his school; with Hikaru himself earning something of a set of win records for his performance in amateur wrestling, along with a boxing record most his age would be proud of alone. Even with a moderate at best academic record, Hikaru was praised by his parents and siblings alike, a feat that often led to the boy outperforming others in both school and non-school related clubs on sheer will alone. Given his great amount of skill in skills directly transferable to wrestling, Hikaru was confident in his pursuit to an amateur wrestling academy in Tokyo. Given his impressive repertoire, he was quick to rise through whatever training was set before him, gaining him both great respect from trainers, and somewhat jealousy from peers, the former of which often stated that he was to be the star of his generation given his passion alone.
It was the jealousy of his peers that of course, made the accident that befell Hikaru that much controversial and suspicious.
During something of a routine bump-drill, in which Hikaru and his fellow trainees were practising the best way to ensure moves that otherwise would of been perhaps injury-threatening were instead achy at best, Hikaru was partnered with the former number one of his class, a position said individual only lost due to Hikaru's quick rise. Said partner was extremely quick to suggest a list of moves he was otherwise 'struggling' with, feigning the act of keen learner in an attempt to ruse Hikaru into accepting. Completely behind Hikaru as the star of their generation prepared to teach his rival how to improve for his benefit alone, Hikaru was completely shocked to find himself on the floor, a numb sensation to his lower back.
Hikaru's rival had delivered a double knee back stab, not only directly to the base of his spine, but with more force than Hikaru himself had ever experienced.
Temporarily paralysed from the waist down, but forever requiring at least basic walking aid, Hikaru spent many months back with his family in their rural modest home, depressed with many a good reason. With his confidence, wrestling career, ability to walk with ease, and dreams all shattered through pure jealousy, the young Japanese man secluded himself for what felt to be an eternity, barely even speaking to his family let alone friends and former-colleagues. It was only through sheer binge watching of wrestling, both Japanese and worldwide, that Hikaru ever found his way out of his depression. On one particular episode of 'Wrestle Heroe's Greatest All Star's', Hikaru was completely captivated by near enough the last thing he would be in a wrestling match. One of his idol's managers. The manager in question dominated the crowd whenever a microphone was put to his hand, not only captivating their attention as if it was a liquid flowing into a bottle, but was without a doubt one of the main reason's for said idols success. It was even something of a popular debate online that one of Hikaru's favourite childhood wrestler's would never have even hit the mid-card, let alone the level of world fame, had it not been for the man's manager.
Simply put, it was that day that Hikaru quickly realised that whilst his in-ring career was never to be, his ringside career had yet to be done. And he'd start, with a very particular first client, who was more than down on her luck given her string of losses. And he'd find said client, in a very particular bar...
