Re: The Wrong Sort Of Practice Partner
With her upcoming string of events against a very certain pair of wrestle angels, Diana felt somewhat annoyed that she inadvertently took a page out of lariat-master Bomber Kishima in order to put this upstart on his ass. Even with her foes quick block, the fact the man had somewhat leaped into it with his tactile flip combined with Diana's wide swing and outright power ultimately spelt a poor end for the man in this particular encounter.
A means to an end, she supposed. Not that Kishima would ever find out either.
Diana's hand continued to grasp her sparring partners arm of its own accord, even after she had little need to do so. Grunting, she could feel Matt's eyes trail over her body, examining it with the gym lights behind her as if she was but a god descended down. She'd roll her eyes, used to the gaze of course, but not at all happy with it.
Before she had chance to chastise her foe on his blatant 'beholding,' Diana would suddenly feel a pull on her arm as her opponent began to use it for leverage, whilst at the same time using his own natural flexibility to force a quick rise.
Only, when pulling for rising-sake turned into an attempt at pulling the Italian up and over, Diana would somewhat crouch, offering great resistance as the moment turned into something of a tug and war. When her foe was flat on his feet though and could no longer use the momentum of his rise against her, Diana would pull away, eager to stand with a short distance from her foe.
"Are you training to fight? Or put on a fucking show?" Ever the goader, Diana tried to tease her foe into straight up brawling with the amateur-boxer before him, despite the fact that Matt's agile manoeuvres would of been pulled off flawlessly with a little more luck.

Re: The Wrong Sort Of Practice Partner
Diana communicated her disapproval of his appreciation for her figure via a not so subtle eye roll. Rather than laugh about it, Matt tried to play it off. Matthew was able to find his way back to his feet. He did so in a showy fashion, but it worked and gave him the opportunity to attempt a move of his own. He tried to take down the Amazon with his Arm Drag but she was experienced enough not to be taken by surprise. Diana held her ground and blocked the attempt! The Luchador would be surprised to see Diana back away. She could have easily attempted another move. And a fighter of her build would seem to prefer keeping her opponents close. At least, that's what was going through the Mexican-native's mind.
As the woman critiqued his in-ring style, Mr. Pasión chuckled a bit before replying. "Heheh, that depends. Are you entertained?" The masked wrestler wasn't entirely aware of his opponent trying to goad him. He'd appreciate the strategy if he was aware, but for now he'd remain oblivious because he didn't do traditional brawls, at least not for an extended period of time. Matt didn't anticipate an answer to his question. It was a surprised to get any words out of Miss Accera, at all. He was under the assumption that Diana only came to blow off some steam.
After taking a moment just in case she answered, Matt would step back and bolt towards the ropes behind him! The Luchador would bounce off of them and run towards Diana with remarkable speed! He'd attempt to jump and slide between the amazon's legs, hoping to take her by surprise. If he made it that far, Matthew would pop back up to his feet and jump onto middle rope behind Diana and attempt to bounce of them and rotate his body at least twice or thrice before aiming to hit his opponent with a Corkscrew Crossbody!

Re: The Wrong Sort Of Practice Partner
Diana's blank cold stare quickly gave her answer to the question Matt directed at her.
Entertained? Most certainly not. Frustrated? Certainly getting there.
Opting actions over words, Diana's hands again assumed something of a firm posture, albeit again she adopted a posture that was somewhat relaxed. She certainly wouldn't be lunging or even making any form of first move for that matter; more curious to see if her opponent had heeded her words and adopted a style more to her taste.
What followed, evidently proved he did not.
Eyes following as the man slid under her wide feet, the Italian simply opted to see where Matt was going with this, rather than halt him now. Turning, she'd fully expect her foe to be on his feet, most likely rearing for a hard strike or at least attempt at a grapple, to show the raven haired amazon he'd heeded her words. Instead, by the time Diana hard turned, Matt was through the air like a rocket.
"Wha-OH!" Surprised to see such an unorthodox attempt at an offensive, Diana would rear her upper body back as she turned to fully face the man in motion. Attempting a dodge that looked as if it was ripped straight out of the Matrix movie, Diana found her attempt at avoiding the manoeuvre in vain as Matt collided with the vast half of her upper frame, albeit not as much as if she had been motionless.
Crashing to the ground with most of the man on her, Diana would buck for what she could, trying to tilt Matt off her, visibly winded!

Re: The Wrong Sort Of Practice Partner
Matt employed his speed and signature maneuver to catch the amazon off guard. The Itallian native tried to bend backwards and avoid the human projectile in display of flexibility, but ultimately, she wasn't able to dodge him. The two would fall to the mat and the Mexican would rest atop Diana, on her upper body. The nifty thing about moves like the Crossbodies were that they usually resulted in free pin attempts. And Matt took the opportunity to begin a count just a second after his opponent landed on the floor, on her back.
"ONE-ay!"
The Luchador made his first count, only too be interrupted his opponent bucking him off. Despite, being a full grown man, Diana's strength remained apparent in her ability to push him upwards and aside by kicking out. The force of her breaking the pin sent Matt high enough to catch himself and land on his feet. He'd look down at his opponent, surprised that her strength was greater than he approximated. And yet, she seemed more fatigued that she should have been. Matt placed a hand on the back of his head before commenting.
"Heh, you said let the pins and submissions speak for themselves. I think that pin says you're a little out of practice, Señora. We can take things easy for now if you need to warm up some more, Miss Diana."
Matt's statement may have come across as patronizing to some, but he did express genuine concern. No way a seasoned opponent should be winded this early on in a match. He wasn't an idiot, though. The man knew that if anything, he'd be able to help out most by shutting up. And even if the masked wrestler could offer her any real, tangible help, it's not like she was going to accept it from some no-name masked guy in the gym.

Re: The Wrong Sort Of Practice Partner
Patronising to some. Beyond insulting to Diana.
Finding her feet with a speedy roll, Diana turned as to not present her back to the man she sparring with, hand coming up and over to comb her hair back behind her face. She'd bring hands to her hips and look down for a moment, letting loose a long breath, arguably a sigh.
No, not because she'd just been caught offgaurd. But because now Matt had slightly pissed her off.
"Let's see then." Responding to the ponder if the Italian was out of practice, despite building a steady repertoire for her wrestling record with her recent performances, Diana this time adopted her signature boxing pose. Right extended with left up and guarding her, Diana would be keen to see how Matt responded to the Italian holding less of herself back.
Slowly, she'd edge forward step by step, trying to convince Matt with her motions alone to trap himself in the corner. However the masked luchadore fighter responded, Diana would be keen to give him a 'reward' for that patronising comment!

Re: The Wrong Sort Of Practice Partner
Matthew wasn't expecting a response, at least not a verbal one. He realized he hit a nerve when the lady looked down and exhaled. The Luchador would begin to shake his head after coming to that realization, but his gesture would be interrupted by the Itallian's words. She'd follow up her desire to press forward by assuming a boxing stance. Something that Matt, being a Mexican native, had definitely seen before.
The man would smile as Diana began to approach him. He'd respond the way any out-boxer would, by sidestepping and circling his opponent around the ring. Matt's speed proved to be useful for this particular encounter. He could evade a slower infighter by keeping his distance and circling her around the ring. He'd opt to go for the same strategy he employed earlier and try to circle all the way around her to attack the Amazon from behind yet again!
Yet, Diana's movements weren't easily foreseen by Matt. Normally, he'd be able to do this to most any opponent, but the muscular Italian would see to it that she never exposed her back to the Luchador. As Matt sped up, Diana kept up and even began to draw nearer to him as he circled the ring. Slowly but sure, step by step, she'd close the distance until "Huh??" Matt caught himself bumping into the rope, near a turnbuckle. He hadn't noticed it until now, but the his opponent had been influencing his movements, and getting him to move closer and closer to a corner of the ring. When he bumped into the ropes and his movements stopped, he'd attempt to move in the other direction, but Diana wasn't about to let that happen!
Realizing that he wasn't going to be able to leave that corner without going through his opponent, Matt would accept his place i the corner and crap the ropes to his left and right with each hands, seemingly prepping himself for a move if Diana chose to approach. "Heh, physical conditioning can wax and wane, but any seasoned fighter never forgets veteran instincts and strategies, right?" He said with a smile, seemingly not perturbed by his current situation.

Re: The Wrong Sort Of Practice Partner
Diana was confident and often stubborn yes, but she was certainly no fool. She was arguably leaner, if by a fraction, than Matt, yet she was evidently aware of the fact her 'sparring partner' was faster than her. She wasn't the sort that would now go out of her way to prove that she was indeed the faster of the two, such a thing was not of Diana. There'd be countless wrestlers out there who had skills that usurped the Italian's own, be it power, speed or technical prowess.
Being the fastest, or the strongest, or even the smartest was never Diana's goal. Being the best fighter overall? Now that was something the Italian strove to be.
With that in mind, Diana would with risk purposefully turn her side to Matt as she approached, almost in an effort to goad her faster opponent into trying to seize her back. Such a thing was not born of cockiness nor confidence; the moment Matt would reach for her back, Diana would turn the rug from under his feet, and reveal that he'd sacrificed positioning for an attempt at a clean hit.
That moment was now.
Turning as Matt made efforts for her back, Diana would indeed lunge slightly at the man, cementing his place in the corner. Weirdly enough, her foe seemed unfazed by the fact he was now trapped, and if anything was simply willing to accept that, apparently looking to catch Diana the moment she lunged. She would not give him such an opening; instead, simply continuing her steady motion forwards until she was within striking range of the man.
Had Diana being his coach, she would of likely but hands to her side and casually step away, before explaining to the man how she would of tackled the scenario.
Sadly, Diana was not his coach.
Simply tutting at the fact the man was eager to accept his poor position, Diana would give a simple response. Leaning in, she'd send a jab straight into the man's toned abs, making sure to tilt her hips to add some force into it. It wouldn't be Diana's best, nor was it meant to be.
If anything, it was simply meant as reason, or more, a warning. Not to patronise the Italian again...

Re: The Wrong Sort Of Practice Partner
The Luchador had lost himself in focusing on challenging himself and his opponent to a test speed - a game of cat and mouse, rather than just trying to out-wrestle her. Though that mistake was one that you'd expect from someone like him, at least in this situation. Matthew used to love being in the ring, but not so much these days. He found this little exchange more fulfilling than another attempt at a pin or counter. Still, it wasn't like he didn't recognize his error and the predicament it had put him in. Reality would set in when the Italian leaned in and hit Matthew's hard abs with a stiff jab! Or, at least that's when one would expect reality to set in for the Mexican-native.
The force of the jab pushed Matt back a little. With his hands still grabbing hold of the ropes on both sides of him, he'd use the impact to hop a bit, and place his right foot on the bottom turnbuckle while still keeping himself balanced by using the ropes. He winced a bit before looking up at her. "Really? Still holding back?" Matthew remarked as if he was aware of, or at least had some inkling of what a motivated Diana was truly capable of.
After taking the jab and changing his positioning in the corner just slightly, Pasión would take action, or at least try to. He'd pull on the ropes and kick off of the bottom turnbuckle to leap at his foe and raise his legs. He would attempt to leap towards Miss Accera's shoulder/head area to connect with a Seated Senton! If he missed and hit nothing but air, he would bounce off the canvas and roll to his feet near the center of the ring.

Re: The Wrong Sort Of Practice Partner
Diana's strike was firm no doubt, but had Diana put her full strength into it, she was surely confident Matt wouldn't dare tease her instantly like she just had. Then again, if Diana was fighting completely seriously, she'd of just straight up smacked the teeth out of his mouth...
Regardless, Diana's posture was one of someone attacking, but not one completely open to assault, nor easily caught off-guard. Bringing that arm back the moment her fist connected, Diana quickly slid back on her left to create some distance between herself and the man she had cornered.
Not out of fear of course. She just expected a man as cocky as Matt to quickly try his best at a response.
Instead she got a verbal one. Mostly.
Finding her foe using the corner to his advantage, Diana would once more push herself to her side out of the way of the mans flying assault. She didn't expect Matt missing her would hurt him at all; he had already advertised himself as a man who could land on his feet in situations most couldn't even consider it.
Sliding her back along the ropes in an attempt to find open ground, Diana's arms simply held their posture, crossed in front of her sizeable chest.
"I've yet to see reason not to, against a guy basically letting off signal flares every time he makes a move."

Re: The Wrong Sort Of Practice Partner
Matt's dynamic exit/attack from the corner would be met with nothing but air as the chiseled amazon dodged by cutting to the side. She showed good initiative in backing up just a second before The Luchador launched himself forward. And she showed no surprise when the Mexican landed in a crouched position with both feet on the floor. He placed his hands on his knees and slowly pushed himself up to his feet. To his surprise, he'd hear Diana actually respond to him, and with a complete sentence, no less.
He'd smile and turn to face her before answering. "And yet, you've let me pin you with one of my obvious telegraphs?" He said with a smile. The man would continue by shaking his head and offering some more interesting dialogue. "Just tell the truth, Señora. You're holding back because I'm not Carmen, right? Carmen Rodriguez?" Matthew anticipated that this might put a slight pause on their spar. He revealed that he had either been playing dumb or just happened to remember who Diana was or where he had seen her before. He'd place hand on his shoulder and rotate his arm a bit before attempting to continue if the lady allowed him. "Your title match against her. It was televised. Like many matches, here. I watched it at a bar back home with a few friends of mine. You let that match devolve into a slugfest of you two just hitting each other in the face. But at least you gave it your all. You left everything in that ring. Forgive me for thinking I'd have a chance to have a spar with THAT Diana."
Matthew was no expert in pushing people's buttons. But he had his moments, especially when he was simply telling the truth and calling things as he sees them. The man had come to AFW on a whim. If he was going to be productive during his time there, he had resolved to test himself against some of their best competitors in their top form. And he took the chance to start that with Diana Accera.
