Re: Blossom Fields vs Samiya Kusanagi - Light vs Dark
There was a trick to what Samiya just pulled. It was all in the balance, and getting Blossom to throw off her own balance. And it was simple, like all the best tricks. The duck and pivot, combined with the momentum Blossom had already built up, had sent the petite powerhouse forward when Samiya had stopped directly opposing that momentum. Not much, but just enough to send her into the Fireman’s Carry Slam. A little bit of subtle redirection could and had done a lot of damage.
Once again, therefore, she had Blossom in an armbar and once again she was cranking the hold for all it was worth, yanking the arm back across the fulcrum of her hips as if she wanted to separate the joint at the shoulder.
The stacking attempt was a good try but, even if Blossom’s arm had been intact, Samiya was more above her than to the side and it would have struggled to work. Instead, the other wrestler gave up after a moment and went for the proven alternative of the ropes, meaning she was essentially dragging both women’s weight across the mat. Good, that would wear her down still more.
Samiya, naturally, did nothing to help matters. And, naturally, she wrung Blossom’s trapped arm like a dishcloth for the full four-and-a-half seconds available before finally letting go. This time, she stood and backed off, arms wide in a gesture of mock-innocence.
The fans jeered, of course, but Samiya seemed to drink their disdain in, turning a full circle with a wide not-quite-sane grin on her features and arms still raised. It was perfectly safe. Blossom was too nice to go for her back, at least not without a lot more provocation.
Besides which, this was a means to assert that she didn’t consider her opponent a real threat. She was, but Samiya wanted her angry. She wanted Blossom to be reacting, not thinking things through.

Re: Blossom Fields vs Samiya Kusanagi - Light vs Dark
Blossom fought and scratched and clawed her way to the ropes, once more reaching the promised land after much strife. To the surprise of absolutely no one, Samiya took her sweat time with obeying the rules and milked the hold for all its worth.
”Again?” The ref cursed and started up the count, this time going faster than need be. ”1! 2! 3! 4!”
And Samiya was off again, leaving Blossom to languish on the floor, cradling her arms as best she could. She could see her opponent was showboating, taking a moment to soak up the crowd’s hate, acting as if Blossom wasn’t even a recognizable threat. Which, so far, she hadn’t been.
But that had to change. Blossom tried to keep a positive attitude about things, but the concept of anger wasn’t exactly foreign to her. She had buttons to press, and Samiya flicking them all on at record time. Enough was enough was enough.
Doing her best to fight past the pain, Blossom made her way back to her feet as Samiya spun around, her face flushed and fuming. Her arms were hurting too much to use right now, but she had too perfectly serviceable legs to work with, and she knew how to use them.
The second Samiya turned towards her, Blossom ran her way, jumped up, and shot both of her legs towards her opponent chest with a dropkick, hoping she could finally get her offense going.

Re: Blossom Fields vs Samiya Kusanagi - Light vs Dark
So, that was how it was going to be. She shouldn’t really be surprised. Funny how no-one protested when a fan-favourite got a fast count. But if that had been her, oh the crowd would be screaming.
But of course it was only cheating when the fans didn’t like it.
She knew it was a risk playing to the crowd. She knew she hadn’t put that much of a beating on Blossom yet. But she also knew it was a risk worth taking because psychological ascendency was as important if not more so than purely physical. If Blossom was convinced she was going to lose, she was going to lose.
And then she turned around into a dropkick. Apparently, the other wrestler was faster to her feet than she’d expected.
What Samiya would have done if she’d been watching was pretty irrelevant although she wanted to think she’d never have been hit with a basic dropkick. Turning around as she was, all she could do was trying and get her arms up to soak some of the damage and roll with it rather than trying to hold her ground.
In the end, the dark beauty took the dropkick right to the chest, going flying with the impact. But her instincts kicked in and she was able to turn it into a tumble, rolling to a halt in a braced crouch. Despite the ache in her chest, she managed a hoarse cackle of a laugh.
”Aww, did I make you angry?” Her eyes gleamed malevolently as Samiya rose, her sturdy legs pushing her back to standing, ready for whatever Blossom was going to follow up with. ”I’d have thought you’d be used to losing by now.”

Re: Blossom Fields vs Samiya Kusanagi - Light vs Dark
Blossom’s dropkick was hardly a major move in her repetoire, but she could nail a decent one when she wanted to it. It helped that Samia's shortness meant that she didn’t have to jump that high to nail it, and that the tattooed terror’s weight wasn’t a big factor.
Blossom had never been happier to hit someone with a dropkick in her entire life, and she wasn’t the only one sharing in the elation. The audience was glad to see her finally get in some straight offense, thinking it signaled the start of things turning back around. Maybe.
The only person who didn’t seem to see it that way was Samiya herself, who - despite just getting her chest smacked by twin heels - was still her irritatingly confident self. Blossom had managed to grow a little smile after her dropkick landed, but after Samiya’s words sunk in, it quickly evaporated.
Samiya wasn’t wrong. Blossom was angry. Not just at her, but she was the one who it would all be directed towards.
”I haven’t lost yet!” She blurted out, right before she took a mad charge forward. She ducked down, reached low, and tried to reached her arms around Samiya’s knees, looking to pull them and take her to the mat with a double-leg takedown. Her arms still ached like blazes, but she’d push past it as best as she could. Getting that look off Samiya’s face was worth it.

Re: Blossom Fields vs Samiya Kusanagi - Light vs Dark
”You lost this match before you got in the ring,” Samiya shot back, cold as ice, ”Just like all the others.”
And she’d definitely made Blossom angry, if the look on her face and the mad charge headed her way were anything to go by at least. Really, it’d be child’s play to sidestep or dodge it, let Blossom’s momentum carry her on. Taking that sort of impact head on was stupid, even if she could tank the initial force. There wasn’t any gain to it.
Which perhaps begged the question of why Samiya was doing exactly that. Standing her ground.
Facing down the charging bull named Blossom Fields, Samiya exhaled slowly, resting her weight on the balls of her feet, and waited. Her hands were low in a loose grappling stance, her plan was set in her mind.
As soon as she felt the petite powerhouse’s hands wrap around her knees, the Schoolgirl Assassin went to clamp her legs together, interlocking her ankles and flinging her weight forward over Blossom in a diving roll. If it worked, she’d have just pulled an impromptu headscissors takedown on the other wrestler and spiking her head-first into the mat on the way back down.
And she’d keep the headscissors, naturally, looking to drain still more of Blossom’s energy out of her with the grinding pressure of the hold.
If she didn’t manage it, she suspected she’d be in for a lot of pain. But it was a risk she was prepared to take.

Re: Blossom Fields vs Samiya Kusanagi - Light vs Dark
Blossom tried to ignore Samiya’s words as she charged forward, did the best she could to push the taunts from her mind. They were just words, and Blossom had had plenty of those slung her way in the AFW. They wouldn’t hurt her if she didn’t let them.
She tried to ignore them...and failed. Utterly. Just like every time before.
Still, she was resolute in her charge. She moved forward, ducked low, prepared to take Samiya to the ground. Her opponent was strong, but she was stronger, had enough of an advantage to control things if it came to pure mat wrestling. She could grind her down and work from there.
And then Blossom’s head crashed into the mat, and she found herself in a headscissors.
She wasn’t sure exactly what happened between going for the double-leg and getting her head spiked into the mat. It was all just a blur of motion, as she went flying about with her flailing legs and arms. It must’ve been impressive, because it got Samiya a few scattered claps from the reluctant crowd.
Whatever the case, the end result was plain: for the third time in two minutes, Blossom found herself trapped by Samiya’s thighs. Were she in a better mood, she might’ve made a joke about it. Now, she was just getting ticked off to a legendary degree, and she showed that by furiously thrashing about on the floor, trying to push Samiya’s legs off her.

Re: Blossom Fields vs Samiya Kusanagi - Light vs Dark
Anger made people stupid and stupid people made stupid mistakes.
Like charging blindly and headfirst with wounded arms at a proven submission specialist who was clearly ready for you.
Blossom might be strong as a bull but she was as thick-headed as one too and that wasn’t intended as a compliment. She walked right into a trap and got punished for it. Cause and effect. And now the Schoolgirl Assassin had the chance to yet again work her over on the mat, exactly where she wanted to keep things for as much of the match as possible.
The ref looked less than delighted at having to kneel down again, but screw her – if she was going to fast count, the tattooed powerhouse had no sympathy for her having to check Blossom again.
Samiya may not have really rated the headscissors as a hold but she knew the technique well enough. Rather than keep her legs straight, she coiled one back so that the calf was pressed across Blossom’s throat in a figure-four and hauled back on the opposite foot to tighten the hold still further. Samiya lifted weights, did squats and gymnastics and her short, thick legs were plenty strong enough to pop Blossom’s head off her broad shoulders if she got the opportunity.
Certainly, she had to ride out the other wrestler’s struggles but she was willing to do that for at least a little while, looking to grind her opponent down still further at a minimal cost to her own impressive reserves of endurance.
”Just tap,” She offered casually, acknowledging the fans’ cheering with a wave of her free arm, ”Save yourself some pain.”

Re: Blossom Fields vs Samiya Kusanagi - Light vs Dark
color=#008000]”Grah!”[/color] Blossom pounded her fist against the mat as Samiya’s thighs closed in around her throat, squeezing like a living noose. ”Damn it!”
And with that, Blossom said her first swear word in about three years. She’d say she hoped her parents weren’t watching, but really, they’d be more embarrassed by the match itself than anything coming from her mouth.
Blossom could do better than this. She’d done better many time before. Even ignoring her professional wrestling training, her amatuer background alone should’ve been enough to keep from this sort of womanhandling. Yet, here she was, trapped between the dark beauty’s thighs, proving her prowess at Blossom’s expense.
It was a role she’d played a few times before - to Death Bunny, to Angel, to that crazy blond amazon that nearly broke her in two. It was truly starting to wear thin.
”Shut...up.” She spat back and eyed the ropes. Too far away - Samiya’s little flippy trick had positioned them farther than she wanted to go for a ropebreak. But maybe there were other options.
Blossom started to roll over, then rolled the other way with all the momentum she could muster. She grabbed hold of Samiya’s thigh, bridged with her legs, and tried to end up with herself on top and her opponent underneath. It wouldn't break the hold, but it would turn it into a backbridge pin.
The referee, already on her knees, started the count. ”1…!”

Re: Blossom Fields vs Samiya Kusanagi - Light vs Dark
Samiya didn’t expect to win with this hold. She didn’t expect Blossom to tap and she wasn’t going to get a knockout with this hold.
But she was looking to both wear Blossom down and rile her up still more and she seemed to be succeeding on both fronts nicely.
For all that, she still had to be careful. The other wrestler was plenty powerful and had plenty left in the tank. Taking any unnecessary risks could still see her slammed all over the ring.
Except, rather than just trying to power her way out, Blossom played smart. Given she had the edge in deciding where the two of them went, it wasn’t possible for Samiya to stop the petite powerhouse turning her hold into an innovative backbridge pin.
And, of course, the referee was right there, meaning Samiya had almost no time to think things through.
Forcing her way out wasn’t a ready option – she didn’t really have the leverage to bridge out. What she could do, what she did do, was rock herself from side to side, looking to get her shoulders off the mat and collapse Blossom’s bridge. If Samiya could roll herself hard enough to the side, she still had the headscissors and where her opponent’s head went the body would have to follow.
And then she’d be able to work the scissors a bit more, then let go when she chose. Clearly, she needed to rile Blossom up a little more yet.

Re: Blossom Fields vs Samiya Kusanagi - Light vs Dark
Samiya was good. Like, really good. Blossom had only been wrestling her for less than five minutes, and she could already tell that she was one of the most skilled opponents she’d ever taken on. It was a little hard to gauge, since her losses kind of...blended together after a while, but still, the more notable ones stood out.
Gah. Dang it. She had to stop thinking that way. She hadn’t lost yet. It just sort of felt like that was the direction this was heading, and she had enough experience getting beat to see it.
She tried to keep her hopes up, but it was hard to do so when Samiya crushed her chances of both and pin and an escape, managing to demolish her bridge and send her over to the side. With her plan ruined, frustration was starting to mount. It wasn’t so much the pain - though, geez, Samiya’s thighs were crushing hard - but just the fact that she was trapped, again, and she was stuck in the tattooed terror’s clutches, again. If she could get up, she’d suplex Samiya from pillar to post, but that would require her to stay on her feet for more than two seconds. Having a great view of her opponent’s nice ass was not nearly making all this worthwhile.
”Grrrr...come on!”
Growing desperate, she started to thrash around on the canvas, kicking her legs and beating away on Samiya’s thighs, anything to make her let go.
