Silver Ace and Alicia Wells vs. Abattoir and River Styx - Friends Like These

From the corner, Styx smiled. A sly, knowing grin. Everything was going according to plan. The hastily made, barebones plan she’d come up with less than a minute ago, but a plan all the same.

Styx wasn’t afraid of facing SIiver Ace  - not exactly. She’d never say it out loud, but she knew enough about the budding wrestler to realize she was one of the bigger potential threats you could face in the AFW. Great skill, surprisingly tough, and she’d held her own against some of the best. Styx did actually watch the match she was having with Angel before WAR came in. She remembered what was going on just before they arrived.

Sooner or later, she’d be facing Ace in the ring. Just not when Ace wanted it to happen. Never then.

For now, she just leaned on the ropes and watched the show, as Abattoir did what Abattoir did best.

Being a (usually) smart wrestler, Ace got her arms up to cover her face during her hasty retreat, a perfectly correct and sensible move...but Abattoir had to be a total bitch and NOT go for the move Ace thought she was going for, instead faking her out and ramming into her stomach, driving her back into the corner turnbuckle against her will.

Despite letting out a gasp at the impact, Ace was quick to react, wrapping her arm around Abattoir's head to at least try and keep the dangerous fighter in place, while bringing her free arm down, pounding on her back and shoulder blades!

Although her success at ramming Ace up against the turnbuckle was encouraging, Abattoir wasn't one to rest on her laurels and be complacent with the little victories here and there. She gritted her teeth, bracing herself against a rain of blows on her spine and shoulders. Despite the limited room she had to swing her arms, Ace could really bang when she needed to. Perhaps in another life she would've made a hell of a nak muay.

Either way this was not a situation she could afford to linger in for particularly long, unless she wanted to get hammered down to the mat.

Taking a step back, arms locked around the former Entropy champ's waist, Abattoir braced herself and shoved upwards. The move she was trying for was somewhere in between a backdrop and a northern lights suplex. It wasn't the smoothest technique in the world, and a skilled technician like Ace might be able to counter it, but she certainly didn't lack for enthusiasm.

One thing Ace remembered from her last match with Abattoir, was that the girl was just non-stop with everything she did. Ace was never able to keep her down or in place for more than a few seconds, before she was able to escape or counter attack, and it seemed that this time would be no different!

Ace cursed as Abattoir lifted her around her waist and chucked her over and out with a Northern Lights Release Suplex, Ace hitting the mat on her back and arching her back from the impact, grimace on her face as she tried to roll over and try to force herself back up, knowing the Nak Muay wouldn't be far behind.

Ace was correct, of course; having shaken up the beehive, she was right in the middle of getting thoroughly swarmed.

She'd barely hit the ground by the time Abattoir was rolling over onto her side, shoving herself upright with her free arm, and charging out of the corner towards her opponent.  It was a full-steam-ahead dash straight into an attempted soccer kick to the side of the head, the kind that'd put somebody's lights out if the nak muay landed it in just the right spot.

Or, well, failing 'the right spot', putting the force of a runaway freight train behind it.  Y'know.  Six of one, half a dozen of the other.

God damn it.


Would it kill Abattoir to, just once, not be an efficient badass?

"Shi-AGH!"

Ace yelled, her curse cut short as she instinctively turned her body to keep her head away from being a direct target. As a result, she took a hard punt right to her shoulder, the impact enough to flip the former champion onto her back!

Her shoulder throbbing and stinging in pain, Ace tried to roll away, needing to make space between the two fighters, needing a new strategy for this improved Abattoir!

Cheated by fate, caught between two very different worlds, and thoroughly disgruntled, Abattoir was on the fucking warpath.

As soon as Ace flopped over, she was moving again, looking to capitalize. The former champ, too smart to make herself a stationary target, was already trying to maneuver herself away and roll to safety. Probably trying to get her bearings and establish a safe zone of sorts, which was a smart move, Abattoir thought, considering what she was up against. As a general rule, once she was on you, she stayed on you.

The nak muay was stalking her way around to try to cut off Ace's retreat, ignoring the rising sound of the crowd rallying behind the downed girl, when she remembered - it was a tag match. Her first tag match, in fact, which was why she'd forgotten that there were new and important things to worry about, like her target here managing to get to their corner and tag out. That'd be unacceptable.

Leaning down, she tried to seize Ace's leg - hopefully the one she'd kicked earlier - and drag her back towards the WAR corner. Priorities.

Crapcrapcrapcrap...

This was bad. Ace was a capable fighter, but even she needed at least a second or two to get to her feet in order to fight correctly. Something she could have done if her attempt to roll away had been successful.

But noooooo Abattoir had to be a bitch and keep crowding the hell out of her, grabbing her sore leg to start dragging her. Figuring she was heading towards her own corner, and in no way willing to get stuck fighting both of them at once, Ace began kicking out with her free leg, aiming for Abattoir's hand to try and free herself.

Goddamn, Styx was glad that Abattoir had joined up with her and Jessica. It had been a gamble and it probably always would be, but the woman was absolute tiger in the ring, and watching her work on Ace was a treat. Styx was a brawler, Jessica was pro wrestler through and through, but the nak muay brought speed and style that neither of them had. For all the dangers their alliance had, things like this made it worth the risk.

As Abattoir dragged Ace back, Styx leaned over the ropes and held out her arm, looking for a tag. Silver Ace wanted her in the ring, after all, and now that she’d been worked over a bit, the bald brawler was all too happy to give her everything she was asking for.

As Abattoir dragged Ace back towards the corner like the victim in a slasher movie, fate took the opportunity to intervene.

Styx held her hand out for a tag, and the nak muay stared dubiously over her shoulder.  "Really?" she asked, thoroughly unimpressed.  "Really--"

It was just then, though, that Ace lashed out at her with a kick, catching her in the hand.  Abattoir hissed in pain and jerked away, pulling back reflexively - and this, of course, brought her right into contact with Styx.  Go figure.  

"Tag!" shouted the ref girl.

"What?"

"Out!  C'mon, get out of the ring!"

"But--" Abattoir protested, but it was no good, and she was immediately hustled off to the apron.  If anything, this only succeeded in agitating her more.
