Re: Topic: Wrestling?
If history shows us anything it is that Tai is probably right with that one guy in charge who does not smell what Braun is cooking so to say.
It would be funny to know if people would be willing to fight Vince and WWE tooth and nail for the main event spot like they did with Daniel Bryan and Vinnie Mac, after a long and bitter fighting campaign, finally caves in and lets him go over the main event WWE had in mind.
And people in general are too harsh with the Big Show. Yes, his act is stale and his constant heel/face turns are ridiculous. But the same people who want him to leave wrestling right now cheered every year for a guy close to and then over 50 who should have retired years ago and just has to point to a sign with his mystical MMA gloves to make a WM match. So its probably true, absence makes the heart go fond.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
actually, honestly, while Roman is the guy Vince wants as his top guy, Braun should be everything Vince wants in a top guy. He's big, he's scary, but he's (somewhat) athletic and can do more than just the typical big guy stuff, and he's got a great character, the crowd straight up fucking loves him (...btw, whats the point of having heels these days if the crowd loves every heel except Miz and Corbin?), and most importantly, it's clear that Strowman CARES about the business and CARES about improving.
Big Show also deserves some credit, he's in the best shape of his life right now, and putting on the best matches he's had since 2002 with Strowman.
@Harrier:...You just really don't care for Undertaker, do you? This is like, the third shot you've taken at him since he retired. If your thinking its going to win you any points, its not.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
Who here be talking smack about the Deadman????
XD On the topic at hand, I am so loving Braun's push right now. Especially because I cannot STAND Roman, and I found Braun's attack to be both satisfying and extremely over the top. Unintentionally hilarious.
Honestly do you guys think WWE and Vince shot Roman in the foot with Mania 33? I cannot see his career going any better now. Taker should have retired to Balor (I know that's a somewhat unpopular opinion but it would make a hell of a lot more sense than the bullshit "This is mah yard." storyline that was the basis for the Roman/Taker feud.)
That would have been the passing of the torch moment from Taker to Balor in terms of a supernatural entity (cause lets face it, Bray is too far gone to take that role. He's become a joke, sad as it is to say.)
Nothing was gained by having Roman retire him. Roman didn't progress as a character, so the whole build up amounted to nothing.

Agreed, and honestly no context to even start laying into the Undertaker either. We get it, you dislike him Harrier. Sadly, the vast majority disagree, and for myself and a few others, he was the whole reason I got into wrestling.
You are literally just throwing shade as the hearse goes past at this point. (No pun intended).

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
Reigns was the guy to do it, just as lesnar was the guy to break the streak.
That reaction roman got monday? That would NOT rurn to cheers just cause it was balor.
Anybody who did it would be massively hated. So, stands ro reason that the guys your already pushing as top stars, who the crowd already gave loud boos to, sbpuld be tge ones to do it..

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
I'm not suggesting Balor wouldn't get booed. I'm pointing out that it would make more sense to pass the torch to someone who, like Taker, has a supernatural gimmick.
That's all

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
Disagree if you want. I think the guy to retire tsker needs more than just a gimmick.
He has to be a younger guy, who can get years out of that momentum, who the company sees as a top star for years to come, whose body isnt already broken or breaking down from a 15 year career.
Reigms is 31 and works a fairly safe style for himself. 10 years from now, when the likes of owens and zayn and styles and cena amd orton have retired and gone home, reigns, barring death or accident, will stilll be around as the one of the faces of the company.
Combine tgat with the fact that hes the one other guy besides lesnar who could take that reaction and make it clear he isnt phased by it, and yes, i think he was the right guy for the job.
This isnt the job you send your most popular guy to do.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that, friend.. Thank you for sharing your reasoning, though.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
Just to add on, the way taker went out is also, frankly, the proper way to go. The old legend dropping to the ne main star of the future.
If taker had started his career earlier, and retired in 2005, then Orton at mania 21 would have been the best one for the job. Hell, just in hindsight, orton would have been the best of takers 25 opponents for the job, given hes still main event 12 years later, but thats under different circumstances.
