It's A Date

highflyderp: Peggy stumbled weakly to the back, Julia tried giving her a pep talk after defeating Peggy via submission. She was weak as she walked, having preferred to leave the ring and let Julia soak up the spotlight. Peggy saw a lot of people looking at her, the cocky rookie who was served a slice of humble pie. She felt awful. After a solid debut win, she put up a fight against....but was outclassed by Julia. Peggy was sweaty, tired and noodle legged as she leaned against the wall. She felt judgmental stares from older veterans, "Yeah, I'm the curvy loudmouth... what of it? I am more woman n' you skinny lean twigs could handle!" Peggy angrily said to a couple wrestlers who looked more like weightlifters standing nearby.

lariatoooo: Jesse Rogers was currently sweeping the floors of the Higurashi dojo, though she’d had tonight’s Friction show playing on TV, so she did get to see her sister’s match against the fiery rookie. But Josh was there backstage at the arena, dressed in a tight-fitting t-shirt and jeans, and had watched the whole thing form a monitor in the back. Of course he’d rooted for his sister. But her foe had been smoking hot. And she was Irish too? Yeah, Josh definitely had to meet this one. And he didn’t have to wait long. Soon the girl was backstage, sounding like she wanted to pick another fight already even right after the intense match she’d had with Julia just moments ago. After hearing the comment about her being “more woman” than the others could handle, Josh grinned a bit and approached her. “I bet you are.” he replied. “Tough luck out there. Hell of a match though. Coulda sworn ya had her there at the end.”

highflyderp: Peggy looked up in surprise, not hearing a jab at her fitness or performance, but a compliment? She saw a super buff tall guy standing there looking right at her. He was cute, and Peggy did something uncharacteristic. She got sheepish. "Oh well thanks a lot random person guy." She said with a nervous smile.

lariatoooo: Peggy’s response might’ve been one of the strangest first things a woman had ever said to him. But it did draw a friendly little chuckle from Josh. And that accent. Josh had a thing for those, and Irish in particular was his favorite. She’d only spoken a single sentence to him, but already Josh had decided he liked this girl. “Not a problem. And you can call me Josh. The girl ya just wrestled out there’s my sister.” he said while offering a large hand for a handshake.

highflyderp: "Oh Julia..... yeah. She is one of my favorite wrestlers but I am still pissed. I didn't come here to lose." Peggy said with her ands on her hips, shaking her head. She shifted around a bit as she noticed Josh's hand. She shook it, giving as hard a squeeze as she could. "Yer a big, buff guy aren't ya?" Peggy said, noting the statuesque physique of the guy in front of her, winking a bit. She tried to come off as confident even though she was still feeling very shy around this handsome young man.

lariatoooo: “I hear ya. But y’know, she’s been doin’ this for years, and you gave her more of a scare out there than a lot of other people she’s faced. Hell, Jules had an easier time beating me a few years ago.” He chuckled again, then shook Peggy’s hand once she took a hold of it. She had a strong, firm grip. Then came the inevitable comment about his size, though Josh didn’t mind. A compliment from this Irish beauty was more than welcome. “Well, I do work out a little now and then.” he said jokingly, glad to see the redhead seemed to be lightening up a bit. “And if ya don’t mind me sayin’ so, ya really know how to rock a green singlet, uh...Peggy, right?” Hardly a pickup line he’d ever recommend to anyone else. But if it amused Peggy as much as it did him, that was all that mattered.

highflyderp: "I know that, but comin' up short still pisses me off. I ain't where I need to be." Peggy said matter of factly. "I love Julia and her pal Alaina inside the ring when I am nkt squarin' off with 'em as much as I like my aunt Velvet." Peggy added with a bit of a blush, her fangirl peeking out from the embarrassment of a loss. She chuckled as Josh mentioned losing to Julia to make her feel better. However, when conversation shift from wrestling back to Peggy, she felt a bit flustered again. "W-well I... oh yes I am Peggy, but ya really mean that? I dun' have washboard abs, and my big ole thighs are kinda jiggly, along with my backside.." Peggy said, spinning around and smacking her butt, not at all trying to be flirty but looking for a fitness assessment. The longer she was around Josh, the redder her face got. "Aye.... is it hot back here?" Peggy nervously asked, still sweaty from her match.

lariatoooo: Peggy may not've been trying to flirt when she smacked her shapely rear, but she might as well have. In Josh's mind, that little highlight was going to be on replay for quite a while. "Trust me. Ya look great " he replied, tempted to reach out and give Peggy's butt a smack himself. But he managed to resist the urge. No need to risk ruining the good first impression he seemed to have made.

highflyderp: Peggy’s blushing did not go away. "Thanks, thats saying something comin' from a guy who looks ta be carved out of stone." Peggy said, smiling more than before. Her tomboyish nature drove guys away before... now it was attracting one. New territory for Peggy. "Ya say ya Julia is your sister, do you train outta the dojo over there?

lariatoooo: Some of the redness in Peggy's face might've been a result of her grueling match, but it was still clear she was blushing. And it was one of the most adorable sights Josh had ever seen. And her flattering comment didn't go unappreciated. "Well thank ya. It's not every day I get a compliment like that from a pretty Irish angel like yourself." he replied, then nodded when asked about the dojo. "Sure do, as of recently anyway. Got another sister who came over here with me too. Really cool place. Bet you'd love it there." He decided to omit the fact that he was there more to be an assistant trainer than a wrestler, at least for now. Didn't have quite as appealing of a sound to it.

highflyderp: Peggy nodded, knowing that Junko trained there. She managed one of her aunt’s chief rivals when Velvet wrestled. Peggy wanted a shot at Rosie. Hell, she would settle forma chance to wrestle the spry looking Junko. She wanted to show that McIntyre women weren't some fluke, or bunch of pushovers. "Julia and Alaina had Junko check out my defeat. Hopefully she likes what she saw." Peggy said with a shrug. "You certainly seemed to." Once more, Peggy’s wrestling mindset again was referring to her match, and not her.....a signal potentially crossed.

lariatoooo: “Sure did.” Josh answered, though he paused just for a moment immediately after to try to decipher what exactly Peggy meant. He had been about to comment on how good the emerald-clad beauty herself had looked out there. But her mentioning Junko in the same context, she might’ve been talking about her performance instead...or maybe not? Given Junko’s personality, either case seemed to have an equal possibility, oddly enough. “And trust me, I’m positive Junko did too.” Josh finally continued, cleverly choosing an answer that honestly answered both possible meanings of Peggy’s comment.

highflyderp: Peggy grinned as Josh further reassured her. He seemed very nice, and best of all he seemed to know his way around a ring. That was a big selling point for Peggy. She looked up at Josh still smiling. "If ya are at the dojo and they accept me, I think we'll be seein' a lot more of each other won't we? I already wrestled one sibling, so your other sister and you could be on my hit list." Peggy added, wagging a finger at the big burly man.

lariatoooo: Josh had never considered being on somebody’s hit list something to feel good about, but this time was definitely an exception. “Yeah? Well, it’s funny ya mentioned that.” Josh said with a grin of his own, as a little idea popped into his head. “Ya see, I haven’t had my debut match here just yet. Been lookin’ for a good opponent, y’know?” Actually,
management just hadn’t given him a match yet. But that didn’t sound quite as good. “Obviously I ain’t allowed to wrestle in Friction, but you’re welcome to come out to Kyoto sometime for a Tension show. How ‘bout it?” He wasn’t sure whether to expect Peggy to accept his little challenge or not. She did seem confident despite the size difference between them. But Josh was a confident guy himself, even if Peggy had just put up a more than commendable fight against his luchador sister.

highflyderp: Peggy chuckled a bit to at his proposition. "I guess sometimes it takes a little lass to knock a big giant down on his ass don't it?" Peggy said confidently. "If the powers that be give it a go-ahead I will be there." Peggy said. She would have to use speed and technique there, Josh had raw power for days. Still, Peggy felt like it was winnable, even though by appearances it was hard not to think of Josh as a favorite.

lariatoooo: SHE SAID YES! ...Wait, why was Josh having to stop himself from celebrating just now? It wasn’t like Peggy had agreed to go on a date with him or anything. She’d just accepted his challenge for a match. But oddly enough, it sort of felt like the same thing for some reason. “Well alright then. I guess I’ll be seein’ ya in Kyoto soon. Just try not to take it too hard when I pin ya.” Josh said with a playful wink, confident the “powers that be” would be perfectly willing to let this one go down.
