WRESTLING INFORMATION
Jack has trained in grappling with the Tampa Bay police academy, learning various takedown methods and holds.  When he began training for professional wrestling, his mentors trained him in a much flashier, power-based style.  While Jack refused to learn much of the popular, high-flying acrobatics popular today, he received a strong base in fundamental skills which serve him well.

SKILLS

Slams and Throws-   Due to his size and physical strength, these are Jack's primary moves.  He enjoys employing basic but devastating maneuvers that rely on his powerful build, before showboating.

Technical Skill- While Jack understands how to lock in a hold and how to break out of one, he often ignores these skills in favor of going on the offensive.  Oftentimes, Jack works from a belief that “the best defense is a good offense,” relying on laying into opponents so heavily that they can't subject him to any attacks he can't handle.

Strikes- Something Jack goes into mostly when annoyed or frustrated, his striking game is rather on-point.  With a lot of muscle and power behind his blows, Jack's strikes are basic and direct.  Still, despite a lack of martial grace, they are powerful if they connect.

Submissions- Would be stronger, if Jack didn't get bored so easily.  He can lock a hold in, but rarely has the patience to hold it long enough to force a submission.  He'd much rather get back to showing his dominance through throws or strikes.  He is rather resistant to basic submissions, mostly due to his large frame and powerful build.

PREFERRED MATCH TYPES
Not a fan of “rules,” Hammer prefers loose match types:  no holds barred, hardcore variations, or matches revolving around objects such as tables or bull ropes.  The one exception is to ladder matches, which Hammer won't take on the grounds that “they're for bitches.”  There may be an off chance that the man is simply afraid of heights ...

FAVOURITE MOVES
Jack enjoys showing off, putting his own spin on such classics as the body slam, the atomic drop, the bear hug or the suplex.  He also favors very basic strikes, like simple punches, kicks or elbow strikes.  The fanciest that Hammer tends to get is to put people down with a short arm clothesline or short arm big boot, a leg drop, or a spinning lariat.

SIGNATURE MOVE
Tampa Bay Vice-  A basic side headlock.  However, between his physical power and focused mastery of this simple hold, Hammer has developed a side headlock that is almost inescapable.  While it rarely forces a submission, the Tampa Bay Vice allows Hammer to walk an opponent around the ring, taunting them and teasing the audience while Hammer shows off his prowess and mugs for the crowd.

SIGNATURE WEAPON
Handcuffs- A holdover from the days that he abused the powers of a police officer, Hammer eagerly takes any chance he can to use handcuffs in a match.  Usually reserved for hardcore matches, of course, Hammer has incorporated handcuffs into several of moves in his usual repertoire.  Usually, Hammer fastens them around one of his opponent's wrists, taking hold of the other end, and using that for leverage.  When he has them worn down, he fastens the other hand, and proceeds to batter his opponent from there.

FINISHING MOVES
Note:  With Hammer not being a fan of rules or basic human decency, Hammer is more than willing to risk disqualification to put his opponents down.  Whenever used, these moves have a decent chance of getting Hammer disqualified from a match, particularly if he's already been trying a referee's patience.

Manhandle Slam [male opponent only]-  A variation on the pumphandle slam, which sees Hammer move behind a stunned male opponent.  Hamer then hooks one of their arms over his own shoulder, while tucking the other between the opponent's legs.  In a variation on the standard pumphandle slam, Hammer will then grope the opponent's genitalia, using it to hoist him up into the air before slamming him painfully onto the mat.

Frisk-Plex [female opponent only]-  Standing behind a stunned female opponent, Hammer will take firm hold of her breasts and then use them as handles to execute a high-angle german suplex.  Most often, Hammer will delay the actual suplex to further work the crowd, punish his opponent, or simply for the hell of it.

PERSONALITY AND BACKGROUND
A surprise to many fans, the “Detective” part of Jack Hammer's name isn't a gimmick or joke- it's legitimate.  Or at least, it was at briefly, at one point in his life.  Kind of.  Not really.
Despite having a ridiculously apt name for an action movie cop, Jack Hammer joined the police force for all of the wrong reasons.  Coming from a poor family, feeling dejected and powerless, Jack saw the authority that came with the badge as a tool, more than anything else.  Excelling athletically as a young man, Jack lacked many of the qualities that would have led to the more lucrative sports scholarships.  Or he simply ignored the ones that were offered to him.  Instead, he went into a law enforcement program at community college the moment he could, and entered the academy as soon as the option became available.
As a beat cop in southern Floria, Jack worked a neighborhood that included a small, local independent wrestling promotion called Tampa Bay Wrestling.  Drawn to the violence and macho atmosphere that filled his need for validation, it didn't take long for Jack to find himself ingratiated with the worst elements of the scene.  With his connections and unassailable public image, it wasn't difficult for the young officer to get the promoter and his talent anything they wanted to get their hands on.  In exchange, between long days on the beat, TBW helped Hammer with fitness and wrestling training.  Hammer took to it easily, becoming the smarmiest, most callous shitheel possible when he finally made it to the ring.  Being a local promotion, it gave Jack particular glee to harrass and intimidate fans and competitors who he had to “serve” in his day job.  And when Hammer got the opportunity to test for promotion to detective, TBW gave him all the support and backing he might need- with the understanding that Hammer's new promotion would also see a step up in their own access to various “perks.”
Hammer's stint in a detective's office lasted roughly a week before internal affairs had him made.  While Hammer had covered his tracks as well as he could over the years, it quickly became obvious that resigning in disgrace was his best option, considering the jail time he might otherwise face.  Jack's loss of position also meant a loss in prestige with Tampa Bay Wrestling, who immediately cut ties.  With that cloud hanging over his head, it became impossible for Jack to find work as a wrestler anywhere in the United States.  Legit wrestling federations or seedy bar room promotions, no one was willing to book a man with as much baggage as Jack Hammer.
Turning his attentions south of the border, Hammer's stint in Mexico was even shorter than his run as a detective.  To this day, pictures of Jack Hammer are hung on Mexican promoters' and venues' walls, with incredibly specific instructions as to what will happen to him should he show his face in that country, again.
Running out of options, Jack has applied to AFW.  Out of every promotion in Japan, AFW stood out to Jack as a place with a reputation almost as sordid as his own.  Hammer might be expecting a bit too much from the promotion, not even attempting to hide his usual disdain for the rules and assuming that will be “okay.”  Jack's inability to take many of his female opponents seriously may also end up biting him in the ass, as he works with them.  For now, however, “Detective” Jack Hammer has finally found himself a home.  At least, until the next time he finds himself needing to “lie low for awhile ...”


QUIRKS AND FUN FACTS
-  Jack is an enthusiastic fan of Hong Kong action movies, particularly those of Chow Yun-Fat.  Unfortunately, Jack is also horribly ignorant, believing that he is now in the “home country” of those films.
- While Jack himself does not use steroids and never has, he is something of an expert on their use and procurement.  Since coming to Japan, he has an ear to the ground on local sources.  However, he is still keeping his nose clean.  For the moment, at least.
- On a matter of principle, Jack refuses to listen to music at anything less than the maximum volume allowed on whatever device he is listening to it, on.  This goes anywhere- his apartment, the gym, headphones while he walks the streets.  He takes massive exception when anyone attempts to correct his rudness.
- Jack does not own a single shirt that does not expose his abs.
- When pressed to talk about his inspirations, Jack once told a reporter that his “spirit animal” was David Hasselhoff.  He would later play this off as a joke, but secretly his dream is to work a match with “The Hoff” in his corner as a manager.
