Like the Rock would lower himself to wrestling at some non Big 4 PPV
(Elimination Chamber doesn't count, he was defending the WWE Title)

Maybe they could hold it off till Summer Slam, then, if Rollins isn't ready for action.

Yeah bit that's assuming he had too, they could have easily have had the rock just go to Wrestlemania with the belt without a defense.

My thinking is that it involves the Rock.
There's been some interesting chatter going on about Roman turning heel lately, and the Rock did an interesting post a few days ago about his own first heel turn and how it really made his career. There was also a somewhat odd comment Roman made about how he doesn't want the Rock to interfere and if he does, how he might get caught with some friendly fire.
So I'm thinking the Triple H pulls some BS, the Rock comes in to make the save, Roman wins the title, Rock comes in to prop Roman up like he did at the Rumble last year...and then BAM! Roman beats the shit out of the Rock, fans lose their shit, and maybe we have Rock vs. Heel Reigns set up at the next PPV - which, won't lie, I kind of want to see.
Eh? Eh?
Won't do Rock/Reigns straight away, you're gonna have to wait until his schedule clears, but there's a lot more faces that he can face than there are heels.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
Goddamn, Takeover: Texas was a badass show. From top to bottom.
Biggest story of the night is, of course Shinsuke Nakamura. I know a lot of people are pinning the Match of the Year on it already - personally, I'm still debeating that a bit in my mind. I really loved the Owens/Ambrose Last Man Standing match at the Royal Rumble, and I saw and loved Aztec Warfare last week. But this'll be a strong contender, for sure. Just an awesome contest all the way, so electric, and the perfect sendoff for Sami Zayn. He'll have many great matches on the main roster if they even have half a clue with him, but it'll be many moons before he reaches these lofty heights again.
My only real problem with the match was the placement - I think it should've gone last. One thing I notice about NXT shows is that there's never really any 'death spot' - just about every Takeover match is high-octane, which is great fun, but I think it runs the risk of burning a crowd out. They got hyped for the Bayley/Asuka match, but not quite as much as I think they would've if Nakamura hadn't preceeded it. As much as I hate the drifter, it might've been a good idea to stick his match with Apollo Crews in the middle. Something lowkey to bring the mood down a bit so it could be lifted back up.
But the match itself was great. Not quite as good as the Sasha matches, but easily my third favorite Bayley match. It did feel like something was missing, though, like there's more story to be told here. Would definitely be down for another match with Bayley on the comeback trail.
Corbin and Aeries was good, though I think it got lost in the shuffle. It probably would've been the match of the night on your average WWE PPV, but here it was just 'good'. Good showing for Aeries, though - did everything it needed to, established him as a bad ass, gave him a definitive but hardwon win, and maybe set up for future confrontation between the two, which would definitely be a treat. They have good chemistry.
American Alpha and the Revival were great, big botch aside. Gable in particular was on fire tonight, and I loved that spot where the Revival were going for the double team suplex and Jordan saved Gable at the last second. Small note: if they're going to be American Alpha, which is a good name, why don't they were red, white, and blue singlets? If they're afraid of comparing them to Kurt Angle, that ship's long sailed.
Joe and Balor was good, though I do have mixed feelings about the blood and stuff. It did hurt the pace a bit, but on the other hand I like that they at least tried to make it part of the story. If anything, it helped get the crowd into it a bit more and make it different from their laast encounter. Joe looked like more of a badass than usual, which I didn't even know was possible. Also, I LOVED THE FINISH. I just got through watching Hart/Piper a few days ago from...Wrestlemania 8, I think, so I immediately recognized it.
Awesome stuff. I know a lot of people are going to compare this to Wrestlemania, and I don't think that's totally fair since this is a very different sort of show from that, but yeah...it's hard to imagine Wrestlemania getting me as hyped up as this did. We'll see...

Not surprised at all by Sami vs Nakamura being a showstopper. Great to see them giving Aries a good win, the card never seemed to look weak throughout

Am I the only one who thinks the new Women's belt looks better than the world title?
