In my little part of suburbia, we've actually had weeks of unbearable heat that is only now beginning to cool down. That being said, I don't know if you've heard of the ice storm Toronto had two years ago, but it left a lot of us (myself included) without power for days on end. After that, everything was no-fucks-given as usual (although sales of portable heaters skyrocketed afterwards)
