Re: Thoughts on Avengers: Age of Ultron
The Marvel Zombies will be facing off against the Age of Ultron (the comic not the movie) in the Secret Wars event going on now.

Re: Thoughts on Avengers: Age of Ultron
I haven't been able to enjoy DC in a long time. I am not saying DC is bad or anything, more that I just don't feel they are particularly interesting, characters overall or perhaps just the entire universe and their universe structure.
Not to mention that movies like Dark Knight Rises and Man of Steel haven't really helped with that at all.
As for my thoughts on the marvel movies, I find them to be entertaining, usually a very fun moving going experience. I dunno, I don't really look for ground breaking oscar material when I go see a superhero movie. Though I will say that watching a marvel movie on the release day with my mates is usually some of the most enjoyable things of the year.
Age of Ultron specifically was a great movie IMO. I enjoyed the hell out of it, especially the extra hawkeye screen time. I felt that the whole Widow and Hulk romance was quite forced IMO. They had very very small hints to it in the first movie, and then now they are full on wanting it, both of them. Not to mention what happens in the end (don't want to spoil)
Beyond that I found the build up to things like Thor Ragnarök, and Civil War (which will apparently feature pretty much all the superhero characters to date. As well as introduce Black Panther and another Character played by Martin Freeman a.k.a Bilbo Baggins).
It was a good movie, IMDB score is a fair one in my opinion. A solid 8.1 /8.2. At least if you go by sensible scales xD If we went by videogames it would be a 10! cause game critics can't put review scores It was good. I simply enjoyed Guardians a lot more, personally.

Re: Thoughts on Avengers: Age of Ultron
I LOVED Guardians of the Galaxy. My problem with DC is that all their films have to be ultra gritty serious with no humor. If you dare have a joke than your movie is nothing but crappy kids stuff.
That's what i hear when i say i enjoy marvel more than DC. Superheroes are meant to be fun, so treat them as such. Case in point, look at Ant-Man. THAT movie looks hilarious and awesome.

I can definitely agree that the live action DC films have been rather lacklustre, but the DC animated films, totally different story.

Re: Thoughts on Avengers: Age of Ultron
People don't exactly love powered people or superheroes in Marvel. They had an entire country who hated the Avengers in Age of Ultron, it didn't stop the movie from being mostly cheerful and for the characters who interacted with each other to at least seem to like one another.
Something I feel most DC movies kinda lack a lot. I find it hard for them to make something like Justice league, especially since the movies are so bad at creating enjoyable character interaction.
My main problem with DC as a whole, I that IMO their heroes don't feel all too much like characters. They feel like personas that fill the role to be Batman, or Superman. I can't recall any time Batman has struggled with a whole lot of personal problems, like take Tony Stark as I often put those two heroes on the same sort of "pedastal" of what they are. Super Smart, Super Rich, No powers ( Though Batman has the power of the 38 hour day), Batman's struggles tend to be, Joker bad, Joker gonna kill peeps, Batman stop Joker and saves peeps. His struggles as a character IMO tend to be mostly focused on what he can do as Batman and his "Obligation" of being a "superhero".
Now Tony Stark, if I would be completly honest, his greatest nemesis ever....has been his alcoholism. His greatest and most internal struggles come in the form of him as a character. Though this is all opinion I guess, if you want your heroes to be basically Gods in that they are infalible and so on, I suppose I'd reccommed DC at least from my own experience with it. Sadly that's not what I enjoy. Hence why I tend to stick to marvel.

Re: Thoughts on Avengers: Age of Ultron
I liked the movie a lot, but somehow it didn't quite live up to my expectations. I think I over-hyped myself a bit.
I agree with LunarWolf on the BlackWidow and Hulk romance. They kinda had tiny hints in the first one, and them WHAM it was full on flirting and LETS RUN AWAY TOGETHER. I think I would have liked it better if there had been more time to kindle the relationship, rather than going from just flirting at the party and then suddenly planning to elope at Hawkeye's house not 30 minutes later in the movie.
I also thought it was rather silly that super spy Black Widow couldn't escape the little prison Ultron had set up. I get that ScarJo was pregnant during filming and that limited her amount of action scenes, which totally could have used stunt doubles and CGI'ed her face on, but comon...
Finally, I was FUMING that Whedon decided to kill of Quicksilver. They'd already established Pietro could catch a bullet in midair when he did with Klaw and then sat it down on his desk. So why was he suddenly unable to do so at the end of the movie? I get he was tired or whatever from fighting the bots, but you can't tear my heart out like that!
Overall, Winter Soldier > Avengers > AoU for me personally. I think the Russo bros are fantastic directors, and I'm really glad they're going to be directing not only Cap's Civil War but also Infinity War.

Re: Thoughts on Avengers: Age of Ultron
If you want a good Batman story experience, look at the Arkham Games. Fantastic stories, and I highly recommend them. There is a subconscious level of doubt, shown in the excellent Scarecrow levels in Asylum and Copperhead level in Origins
I always view Marvel's heroes as relatable, wile DC represents the ideal vision of humanity, like in superman and batman. They are what we want to be, but most likely never WILL be.

I want them to explore the Vision and scarlet witch relationship. That is a weird romance worth exploring.
