Pretty sure Taker's match with Bray Wyatt, his brawl with Lesnar, his getting back in ring shape, and getting the biggest pop anybody on the roster has gotten in years pretty much proves Taker hasn't overstayed his welcome quite yet.

Also, your other complaint is that WWE isn't booking guys in their 40's right...so is this officially the point where we start praising WCW for only booking their 40 year old and above talent to be any kind of important while criticizing WWE for pushing younger talent? XD

Not really. WCW at first was the Ric Flair vs. Sting show featuring the horsemen and some other guys, then it was the Red&Yellow turned to NWO show featuring Goldberg and some other guys before it returned to being the Ric Flair vs. Sting show featuring Booker T and Scott Steiner this time. I am not that much of a WCW fan as you think, Tai^^.

Concessions Kane and Team Hell no Kane were indeed funny.
But ask yourself, when was the last time you thought:
"Well, Kane has a serious chance of winning against Cena, Reigns or Orton!"
Or just
"Wow, Kane really gave Top guy X a run for his money!"
I am not lobbying for Kane to take the longest time running as champ on modern history record away from CM Punk, or advocating for a WM main event match Kane vs. Undertaker(although this match has to be the last one for both Kane and the Undertaker) for the WWE title. But he surely deserves more than what he has been given lately.

Both Mark Henry and Big Show have nothing to prove or to win anymore. Either let them go out in a Blaze of Glory or send them home to sit out their contracts, but don´t just job them out just like that, especially Mark Henry is in danger of being the worlds strongest jobber lately.

I am all for the pushing of young wrestler. But why not make it like it was done with for example Santana vs. Michaels at WM 8? Santana made the match against a young Shawn Michaels with both guys looking equal, even hitting his finisher on the young gun before loosing in a unlucky fashion because Michaels rolled out of the ring after getting hit. That match legitimized him as a solo wrestler after basically being the Janetty in the Rockers.^^

And speaking of Michaels, he had not overstayed his welcome either, but still left wrestling. Of course he was injured multiple times and worn out, but the Undertaker is not the well of fitness either with his numerous operations. People and WWE bug Michaels up to this day for another match and he adamantly refuses, so I think it is justified to see a little irony in this.

Wow dude, I was joking about the WCW thing. Even internet sarcasm should not be THAT hard to detect.

Taker feels he still has stuff left in the tank, and so far he hasn't given any reason why he couldn't. People forget that the Mania 30 match only went wrong because he got seriously concussed by accident, and STILL did his best to make the match good, yet people act like the Mania 30 output was all you would see from him anymore. I think the old dog still has some fight left in him.

Also, did you just call Shawn Michael's the Janetty of The Rockers?

I disagree on that. While as The Rockers, they were mostly equal, Shawn was still ahead of Janetty. He spoke better, was more fluid in the ring, was in better shape, and lets face it, was basically sexy as hell to women back then, while Janetty was less so.

HBK may not ALWAYS have been "destined for greatness"

But Janetty was always going to be the Janetty.

Hell, he was the Janetty in a tag team with the future AL SNOW of all people. When you can't even claim to be more memorable than AL SNOW, you've messed up somewhere.

Most people thought that Michaels would amount to nothing after the infamous barber shop segment that could have made Superstars out of both wrestlers, like most people also thought that the Miz was the Janetty of his team with Morrison.

If you look at some of the older matches, you will probably agree with me that it is Michaels who is missing the timing of the double team moves most of the time, both with the double diving fist drop or the missile dropkick from the top rope. In every other aspect, you are right. He was much more attractive and younger, but in the ring Janetty was the more experienced guy, leaving HBK in the hot tag spot most of the time. And even when they reunited one night only to battle La Resistance, Janetty made Michaels look bad in the ring, so the wrestling talent was undoubtfully there with Janetty.

Of course HBK has wrestled countless classics since then and turned out to be a gold mine for WWE, so Janetty of course stays the Janetty of the rockers, and the new Rockers also don´t help my case at all^^. But he was no lost cause from the start. Sadly he blew it with drug issues and court orders.

They thought he'd be nothing, so they almost immediately put the intercontinental title on him and had him and Janetty fight over it in the first episode of Raw. Suuuuure.

Rockers broke up in December 1991, in april 1992 HBK got a shot at the WWF Title against Macho Man Randy Savage. Later in the same year he won the IC belt and got a shot at the WWF title at survivor series that year (first match I ever saw, or at least have proof of seeing.)

then Marty came back, took the belt of michaels and they battled a bit (after a really terrible royal rumble 1993 match earlier in the year) then won the tag belts with 123 kid.

Both Michaels and Janetty were supposed to become bigger stars after the team split, but, as you mentioned, Janetty's complete inability to keep himself out of trouble kept fucking it up. Sure he's good in the ring (though your claim of him "making Michaels look bad in their 2005 reunion, when Michaels was in the middle of a string of classic matches with the likes of Kurt Angle, Shelton Benjamin, Edge, Benoit, and others is a pretty far fetched claim.) but Janetty will sadly always be known as being the janetty to hbk, al snow, and x pac.

In the first episode of RAW, there was also the Undertaker vs Coco B. Ware, earning the later a place in the HoF despite it being a simple jobber match like countless others, so that is not exactly a sign of good standing. But I see where you are coming from, after showing good matches and hitting the ladies hard, the road to success was paved despite the shenanigans HBK caused.

And I also have to admit, after watching the reunion match once again, memory indeed pulled a fast one on me. Janetty is still good, but Michaels is too.

The first Raw had Undertaker vs Damian Demento main eventing. Demento is not in the hall of fame. Sadly, so far neither is undertaker.

Koko B. Ware WAS in the first match ever on raw, a squash loss to Yokozuna, so there lies your confusion. Still, losing to that years RR winner and future two time WWF Champion isn't a bad deal.

Squash matches were still pretty common in those days as well. It's how they built up wrestlers and defined who was really special among the bunch and got people over, unlike today where everybody has to trade wins and be equal and nobody seems special and nobody gets over.

Usually you'd get maybe one competitive match a show and a buncha squashes. It wasn't until Nitro in 1995 you started REALLY seeing top quality matches being done on TV every week.

Janetty also had a good match with Kurt Angle on smackdown that week as well, but to call it better than the matches HBK and Angle did at Wrestlemania and Vengeance that year would be a little ridiculous.

Unless you're Baron Corbin.

Ah, the Undertaker tombstoning Coco B. Ware was at Survivor Series, not at the first RAW. That image kept swirling in my head. The good times as a kid when you thought that Jim Powers had a remote chance to win against the Barbarian or even Mr Perfect.^^
