So, I heard a rumor that our fighting champ was supposed to main event raw on Monday )(or at least be AT the ME and do something) but was pissed off and no showed.

Pissed off because apparently Roman Reigns failed a drug test and Vinnie Mac won't suspend him.

Can anyone confirm or deny these rumors?

Can confirm that he was backstage at RAW but wasn't used. No confirmation as to why

Probably not true. Those rumors apparently came from a Reddit user claiming to be an insider, who deleted his post not long after putting it up.

well, it seems like PART of the story is true, at least.

WWE has denied the claims. But then they would have done that whatever.

Its too good to be true but it says something when even Tat can pick up on the rumour of Roman failing a piss test and Brock being mad for it.

And, I'm not really HOPING for RR to fail a test as in, like, I'll take him getting out any way I can. Like, I didn't like that he got injured but maybe... maybe him getting injured actually hurt his career way more than an injury might.

it made the push more obvious. it gave WWE less of a chance to correct any mistake (if they were going to)

If I were RR, I don't know how I could be stupid enough to fail a pee test... Unless I just knew I was so untouchable it didn't matter OR.

All the pressure really was starting to get to him and he felt it was the only way to live up to it.

I feel a lil bad for RR, but at the same time, I don't.

And why would the fighting champ be squabbling over money like THAT night? Wouldn't something like that be better served to handle way before you even got there or after the fact?

I'm not exactly a wrestling contract expert.

Not all of us are so highly trained as be able to read stuff on the internet.

I meant it as in most people here don't go looking for backstage/dirtsheet stuff and all the drama that entails, so that it gets noticed anyway is kinda something.

As for why the rage is hitting now, Most wrestling contracts have a PPV bonus scheme, the bigger the buyrate, the bigger the payday. But with the advent of the Network, there's no real buyrate to speak of, and while that isn't so noticeable for B shows, for Rumble and Mania that's one hell of a difference, it was one of the many reasons Alberto Del Rio wanted out before he slapped a PR guy for a racist comment

Haven't heard anything about him supposedly failing a pee test, but IF it turns out to be true, it would be understandable.

Take William Regal for example, in 2008 he was being given a major push that might supposedly was going to lead to the WWE Title, or at least a PPV Title match. (This would be right around him winning King of the Ring that year)

By his own admission, he got self-conscious, started using steroids, got caught, and got suspended. (This played out on TV as him losing a "Loser gets fired" match to Mr. Kennedy)

Regal is a very experienced, incredibly talented veteran, and he felt pressure about just getting a shot he deserved, so while I dunno if the rumors about Reigns are true, it wouldn't be that surprising that a young guy with limited talent, getting the push of a lifetime with a Wrestlemania Main Event Title Win, and being hated by fans for it, would feel as much, if not more pressure, and take something as a result.
