A lonely new country

Anastasia twirled the small piece of paper in her hand, eyeing her phone nervously. Since she had arrived in Japan, she hadn't communicated with hardly anyone, and she certainly hadn't expected to make a friend this quickly, especially not another wrestler. After a long breath, she finally picked up the phone and dialed the numbers on her piece of paper, listening for someone to answer before speaking. "Da-dasvadanya? This... this is Alania Sanders?"

Alaina just sat down after her post-training shower. She was worn out but not exhausted. She was just about to get some coffee when her phone rang.

"Damn it, I wonder what Mamouru or Charlie wants?" Alaina said aloud, speaking of her boyfriend and best friend respectively. Alaina picked up the phone and saw an unknown number. She raised an eyebrow and picked up her phone.

"Hello?" She asked as she heard a somewhat timid voice speak, asking for her. "Yeah thats me..." Alaina said before recalling a recent match.... "Is that you Anastasia? How are you doing?" She added, in a much more cheerful tone.

For a moment, the line was silent, as Anastasia was almost too nervous to speak. With a gulp, she finally responded, though. "Da, I am well. Uh… would you, uh, would you be liking to meet for food, or for coffee?" Anastasia had trouble not shrinking her voice to a whisper as she spoke.

Alaina was worried that she had the wrong person as the line was silent. However Alaina heard Anastasia speak up. She remembered her prmoise as well. She couldn't forget how frail and weak Anastasia felt in her arms that night during their match.

"I would love to meet up with you hun, where do you want to meet and what time?" Alaina asked eagerly.

Anastasia fought the urge to suddenly hang up as she heard Alaina's voice, but she was determined to follow through. "Uh… you-you are American, yes? We go for American hamburger? O-or we could, uh…" she worriedly trailed off as she tried not to offend Alaina.

Alaina giggled audibly as she found Anastasia's shyness to be adorable. "That would be great Anastasia, I can't wait to see you!" Alaina said happily. "Can you get there on your own or do you need a ride?"

Hearing Alaina giggle made Anastasia both more embarrassed and excited as she froze up for a moment. "Ah… nyet, I am good for walking. I will see you at mall in half hour, then." She hung up without any goodbye, less due to her shyness and more because of her home culture as she got her coat.

Half an hour later, she stood at a street corner dressed in a sweater, shorts and a jacket; probably too much for Japan's climate, but it was her going out attire back home and she wore it out of habit.

Alaina was a bit surprised at the abrupt end to the conversation, but she chalked it up to Anastasia being a bit socially awkward. Alaina put on a pair of jeans, a pink longsleeve shirt and a white jacket. She would hop in her BMW 2 series, heading to the mall to meet Anastasia.

Sure enough, Alaina did arrive first. She was just outside American Burger looking around for Anastasia, and signing a couple autographs for two passing teenagers that recognized her.

After searching around for a bit, Anastasia spotted Alaina... now was the task of getting her attention. She was too embarrassed to shout to her, and her initial waving was not enough to get her attention, so she had to think of something else. Quietly, she walked up behind Alaina, tugging on the back of her shirt as she was signing some autographs. "Ah, excuse please..." she quietly asked, hoping it would be enough.

Alaina felt a tug on her shirt and turned to find Anastasia! A big smile apeared on Alainas face as she recognized her small friend.

"Hey Anastasia how are you doing?" Alaina asked as she gave her a hug. "What have you been up to since our match?"

Alaina was surprised to see Anastasia out in public like this. She was just so quiet and shy..... yet Alaina felt that strange "big sister" feeling she felt after the match. Anastasia just seemed so.... isolated? Alone? Alaina wasn't quite sure why, but she just felt the need to watch over this girl.
