Blaise Cameron vs Amy Poford- A Fresh Start

His laugh was encouraging. See? This was the kind of fella that she had imagined populated the Tension roster when she'd signed up; charming and durable, somebody that ran headlong at her at full speed and still came up smiling and full of sunshine after she'd knocked their teeth out.

Blaise's slingshot across his side of the ropes made the knees hit a lot harder than Amy was expecting, and, despite having all of that momentum bleed into two sharp points in Blaise's chest, she still stumbled a bit after impact. But she wasn't complaining. In fact, seeing Blaise's body nearly flop over his shoulders on the mat made her burst out into incredulous laughter. "Hahahaho-ly shit, dude, that must have hurt! You're still okay for me to go full hog on this thing, right?" She was expecting an answer, not realizing that answering was difficult for Blaise at that moment, and certainly not helping with the stomps to his arms she was sending his way.

Blaise would respond! He wants to! But that thought is so far beneath the simple notion of 'want air' that it only just registers. His body rocks side to side as he works oxygen back into his lungs, and just when he thinks she's giving him a moment to recuperate, she begins stomping!

It's a good thing those arms are in the way, really. But she's not exactly being gentle. "Gh-.. nnf!" His forearms get battered, each hit causing a twitch in his body. But finally, he makes a play for her to turn things around! He grabs for her ankle when she sends her next stomp and twists away from her, attempting to take her balance out from under her and force her to fall to the mat on her chest. And if he can get her that far, it's only a matter of swinging his hips over her lower back to restrain the girl into a single-leg boston crab, tucking her ankle under his arm!

Amy certainly expected some manner of counter or escape- she'd been completely in control of the fight up to now, and, no matter how resilient Blaise was, he had to have been hurting pretty bad. But she never expected a complete reversal in standing. In one moment, Amy was standing dominant over her foe, and in the next, she was on her belly beneath him, her ankle secured tight under her opponent's arm.

"Christ!" Amy cursed as pain shot up through her back. It was nothing she couldn't handle, especially since she was still relatively fresh. But she hated the idea of giving Blaise the chance to recover. She immediately started crawling to the ropes, her crawling on her elbows and her free leg frantically bending and pushing like a worm.

If Amy wanted some indication that Blaise wasn't holding back, this would be it. The teen secures his grip on her leg, and rather than poise on his knees and pull, he drops his back flat against her to mash her upper-body against the mat. Holding her leg under his right arm, her foot tucked under his shoulder, he reaches back with the left to hook under her chin. If caught, he strains those burning abdominals to curl inwards and stretch the back of her head towards her thigh in a contorted double-submission.

"Didn't think.. it'd be easy.. did'ja!?," he demands, fighting with his own aching body almost as much as he is wrestling to keep hers under control. The referee girl drops beside them, inching along the mat with the more ground Amy takes on her quest for the ropes.

"And don't.. gimme that.. Kill Bill line!"

"Ugh!" Amy's progress was briefly halted as Blaise drove the air out of her lungs by dropping his weight down on her torso. Then she felt an arm wrap around her chin, and, with a sudden jerk, her head was wrenched back in a totally unexpected two-pronged assault.

This... was new. She had been caught in Boston Crabs before, and even a half-crab or two, but no one before had ever thought to assault her head at the same time. Not that she could blame them; the position that Blaise must have been in was probably extremely unnatural, and certainly not something that a normal person would imagine to do.

It hurt. But it was a cool attack, and she planned to watch this fight after and see how he pulled it off.

Not that things didn't hurt before. But with the added strain on the back of her head and neck, and a bicep grasping uncomfortably around her chin and near her throat, she started to crawl forward with a little more urgency. She had difficultly seeing where she was going, so every few inches, she shot a searching arm forward to see if she could yet grasp the ropes. Finally, her fingers kissed the ropes, and, with a final desperate push, she got a hand around it. "Break!"

With her head pulled backwards over his shoulder, the two young adults lie cheek-to-cheek and back-to-back. Blaise growls against her ear as he strains to work her body over. He can feel her scoot them little by little across the mat, but he likewise can't see how far along they've gone.

"Come on! COME ON!," he calls out. "Tap!" It might be hoping for too much with the first submission of the night, but he's cranking as hard as he can as fast as he can. Normally he might have let go by now, but feeling her move them across the mat puts that urgency in him. That is, until she grabs the rope and he hears her shout to break.

He does so immediately without question. Hell, she could've lied about it, and he probably would've taken her word for it. So it's a bittersweet feeling her gets when he finds that she has, indeed, grabbed the rope. He's not about to let her go, though! He reaches for her stomach to try to pull her off the ropes as he stands and drag her towards the center of the ring. "Not done with you yet..."

Amy would have appreciated a moment to rest, but Blaise had other plans. She felt arms wrap around her middle, and suddenly she was getting pulled to the center of the ring again. Amy rolled over once she had stopped moving and kicked out at Blaise's knees to get him to back off. She stayed on her back in a defensive position, keeping her legs loaded and ready to launch. She smiled and winked at Blaise. "Come and get me, then."

Tug. Tuuuug.

Blaise has plans. How many plans? All the plans. And each one of them requires Amy to not be anywhere near those ever-loving ropes. But the moment he prepares to go with the first of his plans, she pops a kick out at his shin! "Ow!" He falls back a step and glowers at her. He inches forward, she kicks out. It's like watching a cat prowl around a grumpy lobster.

And then she goes and issues that challenge. "You want this?" He circles around her, testing to see if she'll rotate to keep track of him. "You sure? You sure you wouldn't rather I just rough you up the normal way?" Circle. "You might like it more. Maybe you're that kind of chick."

He obliges her. No, not with a charge. Not with a kick. He opts for a method he's pretty sure no one's attempted in these situations before. He leaps into the air and aims to come crashing down with both knees aiming for her torso. That means he isn't even presenting his battered upper-body as a target for her kicks! If she kicks his knees, she might topple him. But he's still hopefully going to splash his body against hers in that situation!

...Yes, it's crazy. But dammit, she's pulling MMA tactics on him! He hasn't trained MMA! So despite the wear and tear he's suffered so far, he's banking on the wild attack to pay off big!

Blaise looked hungry as he circled. Any time he got too close, Amy rewarded him with a minty fresh kick to his shins, and that kept him away, but Amy wasn't about to win their bout by nibbling away at his legs on her back like this. Half of her mind went to coming up with an escape, and the other half went to figuring out how Blaise might get around her defense.

She realized what she would do in Blaise's situation at roughly the same time he did. When she saw him bend his knees, her face blanched, and by the time he was airborne, Amy was already rolling away and scrambling to her feet.

Once upright, Amy turned around, hoping for his sake that he didn't think exactly like she did. Driving your knees into bare canvas can't be very comfortable.

She ain't wrong.

BANG. The impact draws a collective wince from the audience.

"AGH!"

Blaise bounces off his knees to fall onto his side, arms looping his legs to curl into a teenaged ball, teeth gritting. Okay, that sucked. A lot. He could've swore he'd had her right where he wanted her! And if he could just get off one solid hit, he could go for a pin and claim his first victory!

But screw standing up right now. His legs aren't working. "Nn'gah.." He spares an arm to prop himself up on an elbow, expression twisted in pain. Nothing's broken. He knows what it feels like to break something. He isn't injured. He's just banged up with wobbly, unstable legs and unfortunately at Amy's mercy. He can't even turtle up like she did, thanks to that fall.
