Syd Vs. Eka Guramishvili

"Don't. Touch." Syd said in her monotone voice. "My face!"

As Eka began to get up, Syd seized her by the hair yet again with both hands and ripped her back to the ropes. She shoved Eka's throat over the middle rope and reached up from below to pull down on her head and choke her while the referee began to count again.

"Break it up! One! Two!"

Eka choked on the ropes. She spluttered and gasped as she felt the air going out of her.

"Come on, let her go!" The little ref girl said. Eka didn't trust Syd to just do what the ref said and tried to squirm her way out of it. She thrashed against Syd and flailed, trying to connect with a few elbows. She wasn't going to just get choked without a fight.

Syd stubbornly held onto her thrashing, choking opponent while the ref continued to count. "Three! Four!" And once she reached that magic number, Syd let go and walked away with her hands in the air.

"Get her off the ropes! I will disqualify you!" The squeaky little ref jabbered away. Syd just rolled her eyes and stroked her pony tail over her shoulder as she turned to watch Eka, who by now was no doubt sobbing her pretty little eyes out.

The ref girl was her savior. Eka turned over and sat on the ground, looking up at Syd. The fire in her eyes had petered out. In its place was a quiet determination, a sangfroid sort of bravery. The Georgian searched Syd's face to find contempt or maybe disgust but certainly some sort of hatred. She sat on the ground trying to collect her breath.

Eka jumped up and sallied forth once again. She made a grab at Syd's arm and jumped into the air. One leg would tuck into her opponent's armpit. A quick flick of her hips would get her other leg around and two hands would yank Syd's arm into a flying armbar. The submission specialist would make a very bold attempt to get a tap out of Syd.

Syd put up her hands as Eka approached, and this time she thought she was prepared. But Eka was just full of surprises.

"Ah!" She cried out as she went tumbling down to the mat. She grimaced and strained as Eka stretched her arm out, causing her terrible pain while she squirmed and kicked her feet against the mat.

"Rrrrrgh..." She pushed herself up to her knees, her slender arm shaking with the effort of resisting, and managing it just enough to keep her arm from breaking. Then she rolled over her shoulder and ended with her heel on the bottom rope.

"Ropes!" She shouted for the ref.

Eka let go of Syd's arm and rolled away as the ref prompted her. The roars of the crowd began to fade. They liked that move quite a bit. Even if Eka couldn't quite prevent Syd from snaking her way to the ropes and breaking free she was sure to feel some pressure on her arm. And it was nice to get some more offense in as she had taken quite the beating outside of the ring. Eka picked herself up.

The sweat coating her body reflected the lights high above. Eka's shoulders were back and her head was high. She felt like this was an act of defiance against the swaggering Syd who wanted to keep her down and out. She raised her hands; they were not the hard fists of brawlers but instead the open hands of wrestlers. The Georgian was ready to grab and pull and yank and counter and wrestle her opponent. The first step towards Syd was small and cautious. The second step towards her was less timid.

Eka's eyes were trained on Syd like a laser.

Syd hugged her arm against her body and leveled a wounded glare at Eka while she got to her feet. Her cheeks were reddened slightly from the embarrassment of being flung around with such a spectacular submission hold. She wanted to erase the memory of it, blot it out with Eka's screams.

She paced back toward the center of the ring to meet the Georgian, more cautiously now. It was no secret what sort of tactics Syd preferred, but she had diligently put in her time in training and in the Chicago regional circuit. She could wrestle too. Maybe it was time to show that.

She raised her hands and took the last couple steps all at once to slap a clinch on Eka, both hands on the back of the girl's neck while she pulled down on her and drove her back.

Eka felt the pressure on her neck and tried to buck against it. She tried to dig in and push back but that was unsuccessful as well. Syd had showed a little caution in approaching her which was nice. She showed a lot of strength and tenacity in the hold and Eka was bowed. The Georgian hated clinches like this when she couldn't even see anything except the canvas.

She thought she could change that in one swift move. EKa moved her arms in position and twisted and bent into a magnificent gator roll. If she could secure it she could then roll Syd up into a pin.

Syd muscled Eka back until somehow the girl's arms slipped up inside of her own and ensnared her. She dropped to her knees when Eka snapped her down, and flopped onto her back when Eka rolled, in a tangle of spidery legs kicking and squirming.

Irritatingly, the referee was right on the spot. "ONE! TWO!"

Syd kicked against the mat and bridged her back, and narrowly managed to turn into Eka enough to break the pin. She rolled onto her stomach, sprawled on her knees with her chest almost on the mat, arms still clutching Eka's neck, and took a deep breath.

Eka was so tantalizingly close. She had got to two before Syd managed to get her way out of it. And Syd managed to keep her hold on Eka painfully bowing her head. The Georgian was face down and bent over on her knees.

The time for technique was over. Syd was on her knees in front of her. Which gave her the opportunity to dig in and push forward. Eka pushed with her legs and arms trying to get her opponent to topple over and release the ravenhaired girl, effectively a straight bullrush. And if the whole arena got to gawk at her butt in her tight leather pants as she struggled against her opponent, so be it.
