***
Wild Thing stood in the middle of the Nijinomatsubara pine forest on the outskirts of Japan. She wasn't wearing much, just a small black bikini that scarcely covered even her small form. Her ratty hair was tied back, kept clear of her face for full vision. It was dark, approaching night with a waning sun in the distance. The last rays of sunlight slipped through the tree tops and the first moonbeams joined them, casting everything in a twilight glow. Creatures of the night began to come out. Owls hootings along with the slither and hiss of something unseen and deadly through the underbrush. The city's sounds were faint, the distant rumble of a bustling metropolis, miles and miles away. The only sign of civilization were a few small cameras on the trees tops, strategically placed.
It might as well have been another world. For the first time in a long time, Wild felt truly at home.
She didn't know whose idea it was to put her in a match like this, but she really wanted to thank them. She was getting used to the chaotic mess of Japan, growing accustomed to its cooped up lifestyle and even learning to like certain things, but she still longed for the wide open space and the feel of the raw dirt between her bare feet. Finally, she didn't just have a fight. She had a hunt.
Wild Thing didn't know who her foe was, and she couldn't have cared less. For the sake of sport, though, she hoped they were tough. The last thing she wanted was to ruin this with a pathetic fight.
She ducked down by a puddle and ran her hand through the mud. It had rained hard earlier in the day, and even though the clouds had long since cleared, the trees were still damp and dripping, wet all over. Wild Thing gathered a handful of mud and smeared it over her body, covering her checks, arms, chest, thighs, and ankles, miring her lily white skin in makeshift camouflage. With that done, she jumped up, grabbed a branch and climbed into the nearest tree, staying low and using the foliage to hide. She'd come few minutes early for the fight, and her prey would be along soon. Even with her domestication, she hadn't forgotten the importance of seeing the target before the target saw you...

Re: Sabre vs. Wild Thing - Fearful Symmetry
Sabre stepped through the gate in the tall mesh fence and heard them lock it behind her. This was going to be a cage match like no other - the “cage” in question being a massive area of forest that AFW had fenced off for private use.
Or, more specifically, pitting two of their most feral fighters together in truly wild surroundings. With no entrance music, no crowd, no rules, Sabre had been looking forward to this. She’d heard her opponent was a child of the wilderness, and revelled in being a force of nature. Sabre would gladly show her just what animal force really meant.
A lot of pride was at stake here - after all, if the self-proclaimed “Stone Age Babe” couldn’t cut it in this stripped-back, primal environment, it would be pretty shameful.
Still, Sabre wasn’t in pure huntress mode just yet. Clad in her skimpy white loincloth, she marched steadily down the main path, heading for the centre, eyes casting round for her opponent. The fading light was going to make that harder than she would have liked. She could feel mud between her bare toes, and started scanning the ground to see if she could pick up any obvious tracks.
Sabre knew she was the bigger of the two wrestlers, and made no effort to hide herself just yet. With her white hair, white mask, and white outfit, stealth was never quite going to be her forte here. She wanted to force confrontation, not avoid it.
“Where are you…” she muttered to herself as she peered into the gloom, fists clenching as they itched to be put to use. If she could pick up a trail, she'd make short work of this girl, she was sure.

Re: Sabre vs. Wild Thing - Fearful Symmetry
It wasn't long before Wild heard it - the telltale sound of human feet moving through the forest, distinct and unmistakable even with all the sounds of the night surrounding it. At first, she was disappointed. Whoever this was, she didn't seem to respect the forest's might. She moved like someone who had no idea that a thousand eyes watched her every step. Stumbling around like a lost fawn. Hardly sporting.
That feeling immediately changed when her opponent came into view and she got a good view. She smiled. A rare, genuine smile. Wild Thing really was going to have to thank whoever came up with this match.
This was no ordinary woman. The fiery glint in her eyes showed through the gloom. Her muscles bulged with power. The skull on her head looked like a mighty beast, and she wouldn't have been surprised if this hulk of a woman killed it herself. This was no whimpering fawn, this was a doe with the build of a full-fledged buck. She didn't make her position so clear because of inexperience. No, this one knew she was stalked, she simply had nothing to fear. Or thought so.
Wild Thing could feel the blood racing through her veins as her hairs stood at attention. She drew her head back and bellowed like she hadn't done for a year, a long and loud howl, letting her booming voice echo through the trees and come at the woman from all directions. With normal prey, this would have instilled some fear, brought on the panic. She doubted it would work on someone who wore an extra skull, but there was another purpose.
She wasn't as fast as her brothers, not nearly as strong, her teeth far less sharp. But she could do one thing they couldn't do - climb. That ability let her keep up with the pack and attack in ways they couldn't, and it was that ability she put to good use now, slipping through from branch to branch as the echo covered her rustling. She stopped right above the cave woman and hung down from a tree limb, only a few feet above her head. Not attacking yet. Watching. Wanting to see how this one moved and reacted. She'd left a few footprints in the mud before she took off, it was unavoidable was this woman good enough to pick up on it? Who was hunting whom?
Soon, she'd see. Soon.

Re: Sabre vs. Wild Thing - Fearful Symmetry
Sabre froze as she heard the howl. It was a blood-curdling yell, and Sabre felt the sound go right down her spine.
Then she smiled. A slight, wry grin, as she knew the other girl was close. Battle would soon be enjoined, and her opponent wasn't exactly trying to hide from her. No, that was the cry of a fighter. A sly, tricky fighter, but a worthy foe all the same.
She glanced around, looking for the source of the noise, but it seemed to come from the forest itself. Sabre shifted impatiently.
"COME ON THEN!" she roared back, beating on her chest for added adrenaline. Silly opponent, thinking Sabre could be scared by dog noises...
Sabre was still looking around keenly for a sight of her enemy in the dark forest. Her skull mask was screwing over her peripheral vision - never normally a problem in the ring, but she was wondering if she would need to remove it.
Before she was reduced to that, though, her eyes fixed on a set of footprints in the mud. Not hers.
"Got you..." she muttered, as she tracked the muddy trail. It seemed to lead to the nearby trees...
It would take Sabre a few moments to plot the trajectory of her foe, but if Wild Thing stayed put then Sabre would soon find her position.

Re: Sabre vs. Wild Thing - Fearful Symmetry
Timing. It was all about timing.
Wild's muscles tensed as her foe screamed into the darkness with a roar that rivaled any beast. Maybe even more than that. Maybe they were beasts, let loose and allowed to be the animals they truly were for one, precious night. Whoever this was, she seemed eager to live and make the most. Blood, sweat, broken bones and ripped hair, claw marks down the skin, shrieks in the night, and only one of them walking out while the other needed to be dragged.
She wanted to wait a little longer. But she needed to attack, right now. Her blood demanded it.
Wild Thing dropped down from the tree and landed behind the beastwoman, coming down into a crouch and getting on one knee. There was a wet sound on impact, a dull slap as her knee dug into the soft earth, and she knew there would only be a split second before the bestial beauty turned around and drilled her into the ground...if she even needed that long. Be nimble, be quick.
She did a quick jump up and shot both of her legs out, trying to drive both of her heels into the back of the white-haired woman's knees and drive her forward, put her on the defense to start. So long as Wild Thing kept moving, that was where she'd stay, too.

Re: Sabre vs. Wild Thing - Fearful Symmetry
Sabre's ears twitched as she heard a noise behind her and she glanced inquisitively over her shoulder.
Way, way too late. Against this opponent, anyway. Next thing she knew, Sabre's legs had been taken out with quick precision, and the cavegirl was sent sprawling forwards.
Her forearms shot out to break her fall, thudding into the mud. For a moment she was left looking foolish on all fours, her ass jutting into the air. No crowd was here to jeer her setback, but that was irrelevant to the primal fighter. At least she had learned what the small footprints leading to the trees had already hinted at - this Wild Thing was fast and efficient. A real handful to try and tame.
Sabre would try and turn around, sitting upright to at least get a first sight of her opponent, before trying to get up.

Re: Sabre vs. Wild Thing - Fearful Symmetry
Hm. Nice ass.
That thought was at the far back of Wild Thing's mind as her white-haired opponent fell forward. She was focused on the fight now, going off on instinct, and her natural inclination was to move in the moment any weakness was shown. She darted towards the fallen savage, ready to drill her into the ground, eager to pummel away at her until she was a broken mess.
She stopped in mid-leap and jumped back when the cavewoman spun around, gatehring her senses far quicker than Wild Thing would have guessed. This one was tough. Even tougher than she looked, as hard as that was to believe.
She stayed back, just a foot or so out of the cavewoman's reach, and started to strafe around her on all fours, snarling and baring her fangs while she circled. She also did something she rarely employed with matches: she spoke.
"Wild Thing." She said as she pointed at her chest, talking through her clenched teeth."Your name?"
Typically she wouldn't have cared to ask. Something about this one, though...

Re: Sabre vs. Wild Thing - Fearful Symmetry
Pulse racing, Sabre sat up to see her opponent hovering just out of reach. A surprising sight. She hadn't expected the girl to have rubbed mud all over her own body, but it reinforced her feral credentials. Explained why Sabre had had trouble seeing her in the dark. Above all, there was the psychological impact too. Wearing only a black bikini and smears of dark earth, she looked like some kind of forest demon. Sabre liked to present herself as utterly fearless, but this girl looked and acted like she transcended even that - a small, lithe bundle of nothing but instinct and agression. Genuinely animal. She was even baring her teeth. There was real danger here, a risk that the fight could get very brutal very quickly.
Sabre felt the surge of adrenaline that gave her. And loved it.
Using it, she leapt up in a flash, quickly positioning herself on all fours to match her opponent's stance. Circling each other as they exchanged names. At least that was a sign this girl was *partly* human.
"I Sabre." Beneath her mask, a slight smile. "You gonna remember it."
She needed to strike this wily demon before she disappeared into the trees again, so Sabre would act fast. Tensing into a sprinter-like crouch she suddenly burst forwards, charging straight at Wild Thing with her arms outstretched, hoping to smash straight into her with her lowered head, and tackle her to the ground.

Re: Sabre vs. Wild Thing - Fearful Symmetry
Some might have taken Sabre's claim as being cocky, and maybe it was meant to be, but Wild didn't see it that way. It was a pure fact. She would remember that name. She was going to remember this woman until the day she died. Perhaps even beyond that.
One of the things that would stay with her the most was just how fast Sabre was for someone so big. Wild trusted in her agility, knew she would have enough time to dodge anything that came her way even though they were so close. She was half-right.
Wild leaped to the side and managed to get the upper half of her body out of the way in time to avoid the deadly charge, but Sabre slammed into her legs in mid-jump, hitting with the impact of a raging bull. She spun around twice before she hit the ground, and the soft earth only made it slightly less painful.
She went tumbling away and kept on tumbling past the momentum, trying to put some distance between them before she got back up, drawing them further into the shadows. The darkness was her friend, and together they would pick this woman apart.

Re: Sabre vs. Wild Thing - Fearful Symmetry
Sabre grunted through her charge, coming up empty despite making contact. She put the brakes on and scrabbled round as fast as she could, seeing Wild pirouette and crash from the collision. Sabre felt a momentary hope, but her opponent landed instinctively well, her tumble defensive and creating some safe distance, so the cavegirl couldn’t capitalise as she had hoped.
“Nearly got you” she teased, trying to assert herself psychologically, even if she couldn’t physically just yet.
Drawing herself up to full height, she began a purposeful march towards her retreating foe. The forest depths held mud, darkness, tangled plants and thorns and god knows what else, but Sabre was adamant she didn’t care.
“What you gonna do, wild girl? Hide up a tree again?”
