Alternative Arena

It's good to see the Alternative arena is getting some action, some bios are being made in the roster and theres been a few discussions started up about it...

Now I was wondering whether to make it into a proper "federation" like Friction and Sex Wars... So it would have an ongoing story/theme rather then be a random selection of matches.

If the answer is yes, then perhaps people can give suggestions on how this might be set up. I am still pretty set on the idea of this occurring in an alternate dimension from Friction and Sex Wars so that they would still be separate and nontransferable, just wanted to allow people to voice their own ideas (particularly if it expands on what I just said, I've got a couple of ideas myself but lets just see if anyone suggests the same things)

it's looking like it's coming along, but i'd make it official once it got a bit more interest and participation. I could well be wrong, mind.

also prefer it being distinctly separated from the AFW. imagined Mina watching some of the stuff on tv, watching intent, and routinely puking her guts out at some of it.

while I am not entirely inclined to do a character for it (though more open to the idea than doing a sex wars character) I think that it would still be neat for it to be an actual federation for those interested in it and if it WAS a federation then maybe it would help people who are sitting on the fence make a decision one way or another.

I also like the idea of some how it being able to be SEEN by people in the AFW even if it's not connected. How crazy would it be to see an character in AFW watch an alternative match of themselves in a death match o.O it's like. woah. plus who wouldn't want a live broadcast of angels and succubi having at it ^^

I dunno. Trying to establish an overarching universe with something so freeform might not work too well, but I can't be sure.

Plus, one of the appeals of Alternative Arena is that the matches there don't even have to take place in an arena. A death match could take place under any circumstances and if death matches actually take OFF, they could probably stress continuity.

maybe in the AFW world, alternative's just a fictional tv show? though it sounds like there's implications of magic in the AFW world too, so i dunno if it's impossible to work in. would make the whole deathmatch idea harder to justify/ignore too

I think death matches don't go all that well in a roleplaying group... Unless if we make a sort of arena that have some resurrection enchantment on it...

I personally think if we are going to create a roleplaying group in which angels, demons, anthros and sorceress fights each another, I my oppinion it would be better if the universe is seted up in a medieval/fantasy world instead of a modern age one.

Well, we can make deathmatches one-offs. It'd work better than having a resurrection dealie at least in plot. There'd be something nice to a more brutal, visceral, desperate match that ends with one of the combatants clawing weakly at the other one final time as the last of her life bleeds out.

I had in mind the idea of keeping things pretty much as free as they are now (or there abouts).

I'm still not sure of this idea but I was tempted by it: there is about 3 worlds set out which are connected to a central one world... So you could have a medieval fantasy world, a furry world and a futuristic/super power world... The central world they are all connected to is a mix of all three. Generally the correct type of character can only stay in the respective worlds eg. medieval fantasy world tends to only have angels, elves, demons, vampires (but perhaps other types of characters can still visit?)

The central world which all of them are linked to is free roaming for every kind of character. Apart from that you'd be able to set the scene, I would set up each world as an individual forum and then you can decide whether the match takes place in a ring, in a sandpit arena or in a forest or whatever.

As for deathmatches, again I want to keep it open to whatever people want, so member could have one off matches which doesn't exist in the storyline... Or you could decide to have a resurrection ring, cloning, or somehow your character get magically revived with no explanation and little memory of their death

I'll write a little more later, but now I've got to rush to work....

BTW, i'm planning to add 2 characters to the roster: Still not sure, but i'm working on the idea of:

1) a half-angel/half demon character.

2) a furry character, a human/tiger hybrid with strenght to behold, but with a funny point of weakness: When down of lively energies, or when soothed down in some ways, he "downgrades" to a weaker feline shape, becoming a weak neko-boy =^.^=

the halfie character could work out in a lot of ways. a friend of mine had one in a (non-ecchi) rp game, and his very existance was considered so borderline impossible that it caused random affects by tearing reality just by existing

just imagine the character coming to a match and going "I-" and then exploding as his two halves just wipe one another out. Easy victory!
