But beyond that, Hogan wasn't a draw from 92 to 96. He was still active to be sure, he was WCW champion but by that time he had lost all luster that had been in decline since pretty much Mania 7.

I also consider Nash more of a NWO guy, but his failure as champion shows that WWF had lost touch with it´s audience by then. How can a guy with no ratings stay champion for that long? Again an attempt to copy the blueprint Hogan probably, although Nash never had the ability to shine alone and there were better men for the job, even when WWE was in danger of going out of business.
And speaking of feuds that went wrong, the Sid - Hogan feud was a desaster because Hogan was booked like a jealous asshole who could not be the bigger man when Sid threw him out of the Rumble fair and square, probably the first time the "Hero Hogan" image showed a fatal crack. Probably also the problem of Cena today, when he is not making jokes to belittle his foes, he does nothing to help his friends and is shown like a total victim of backstage politics most of the time. At least Hogan was his own man and made the biggest heel turn ever, although outside of the WWF. There is a video on youtube where an old lady even tries to slap Hogan in the face when he is Hollywood Hogan and he provokes her even further, and the ring is littered with trash most of the time when the NWO appeared, fucking great even today.

I also miss flamboyant characters like the Macho Man, just look at his diversity when he turned heel and even evolved further into the Macho King. Most of the time with a few expections like Flair, a guy in a speedo is just a guy in a speedo, not someone to remember and buy a ticket for.

I like Cesaro as wrestler. I really do, and the team with Kidd is really nice too, but both will go nowhere with it, sadly. And the guy needs a manager, but a manager that cares and does not treat him like a side project, like 80% of all guys in the WWE do need a manager, or at least a little creative freedom with their promos. Lesnar for example is badass enough on his own, but how much better is he when Heyman is around? Especially Cesaro could be a guy that could replace Lesnar and be like HHH at least, a fighting heel that is hard to overcome because he is such a superb wrestler or anti hero when he is face. Sheamus and Orton were also a candidates for that, but that ship has long sailed.

Given the somewhat semi-difficulty in following it, your most likely to see stuff related to american pro wrestling here though.


Don't let that stop you though, if you got something you wanna say, or matches from japanese pro wrestling you wanna suggest be watched, by all means bring them up. We don't bite and we enjoy getting to watch and learn about matches we didn't know about before.
