I just realized something. The Authority and Cena each spent weeks courting Ryback, certain that Ryback was the guy that was needed to tip the scales and turn the odds.....and he was the first guy on Cena's team eliminated.


Meanwhile, Dolph Ziggler, who spent weeks getting either ignored, mocked, or getting his ass kicked, and has probably the most grudge against the Authority, showed himself as a true badass tonight and won the match for his team.

All and all, that was a pretty awesome PPV from start to finish.

That was indeed a surprising main event match. Good for Ziggler, who I thought had already peaked with the WHC, but this was also a very big moment for him.

The probably best development is the first belt in the WWE for Sandow, and Miz now tied for the most reigns with the tag team belt.

This storyline in general has been really good development for Ziggler. And I'm SO glad he's the one who won it for the team and not Cena. The ending of that show was beyond awesome. Now I can't wait for Raw to see how the stuff with Sting develops!

It´s what you get when you have a big name, Cena, and no people to support and challenge him on a regular basis, like Edge, Punk or Batista could. Cena could not leach on the popularity of Edge, Punk or Batista, all of them were good and big enough to make him look like a chump for large segments of the fans. Edge and Punk had more charisma and personality and were much better wrestlers, Batista was the better big man and could also be better than Cena on the mic sometimes(Ragequit was the best quit ever!). So they could not cool them for Cena, it somply did not work.

Lesnar is an oddity in that reasoning, but I am pretty sure if he would have liked to wrestle on a regular basis 10 years ago, Cena would be nowhere near 15 reigns. Jeff Hardy was also as big as Cena, he was basically the same to Cena as Randy Savage was to Hogan, but they were never big rivals. The only guy to be considered a rival to Cena and still active in WWE is Randy Orton, but it´s pretty clear who is Nr 1. Daniel Bryan is the next guy in line to challenge Cena for his spot, if WWE likes it or not with the building of Roman Reigns.

Ryback on the other hand was really on fire as face, although horrible in every aspect, then got systematically cooled off for the sole reason of making Cena look good, then dropped into the midcard to learn how to wrestle from Curtis Axel, now supported again to a certain point. He is basically the face version of Wade Barett, who probably benefited from working with Gabriel and Slater, and Bray Wyatt, who was probably supported by Luke Harper.
