Yeah, but they're scared that kids wont keep watching after crying because their guy didn't win.

There has been talk within WWE for about 6-8 weeks that John Cena is still having problems with his shoulder but is now having more problems with his neck. These are longterm nagging issues that Cena has been dealing with. It was also said that there are a lot of people within WWE keeping an eye on Cena to see where he will be going forward in regards to acting and not wrestling as much. There are also people within WWE who say Cena appears to be in pain and they believe Cena has slowed down physically in the way he moves. (PWInsider)

Well of course he wasn't going to last forever. I think someone like Vince understands that. And kids will keep watching. Putting all your eggs in one basket is most foolish.

Some wrestlers are forced away from the ring due to injury when they are at the age of Cena. For every Sting and Flair, there are several Edges, Stone Colds and Rey Mysterios. Mark Henry is teasing retirement for the last 3 years, and Kane and Christian are probably at the same stage of career. Ironic that Michaels stepped away from the ring in relatively good shape, and the Undertaker can barely do a match once per year and still wrestles at the age of 49.
If that report about Cena is true, getting german suplexed 16 times surely did not help with the neck issue. The guy has basically given his body for the WWE, but sadly, he stays boring...
