Night of Champions prediction for the WHC match: Ricardo screws RVD over, rejoins Del Rio.

I watched the episode of TNA where AJ went and saved MEM, if you ask me I think what they should do is have him turn back to the dark brooding version after he wins the title from Bully Ray. Truth be told I prefer the "Evil ways." AJ as it makes me think of some kind of western anti-hero.

I had hoped Christian would win the title from AdR, so now I hope for RvD to win it. I already said it before, AdR is a very good wrestler and has his moments, but until he gets more accepted he should probably try to elevate a midcard belt instead of winning the WHC over and over again with as good as no heat. So I hope he doesn't turn on RvD, but could be.

And TNA, well, TNA is looking a little bit grim at the moment. It has no direction of any kind and just happens, with a pipebomb to a very mediocre reaction or making it obvious that the belt win of Sabin was just a mercy reign for himwith Bully winning it again so fast.

So what's everyone think of this current feud between Daniel Bryan and the corporation? I saw it coming a week before Summerslam and I was thrilled to see things go in the direction I predicted, but... damn this is starting to get really dull now. Literally every RAW and Smackdown for the past three weeks has ended with Daniel Bryan beaten up by Randy Orton and/or the Shield. I certainly don't think the face has to be victorious all the time to make a good wrestling angle, but this is getting pretty old. Plus the Shield's involvement in all this feels weird. Doesn't them serving as Triple H's lackeys and backing Randy Orton sort of contradict the whole point of their gimmick? Meh, idunno...

If it means that Daniel Bryan gets to beat Oiled and take the title back, then I'm all for this getting dragged out. And, even though I don't mind Daniel Bryan getting mugged every raw, I think what bothers me is how they are sniping on the rest of the superstars with the whole, "talk shit about us and you're fired" schtick.

I am torn and don't know if I like the place of the Shield. I like them as Tweeners, but a place in the corporation can only benefit them. And it's kind of fitting.

And as some people say heels are always better(I don't), Ryback is indeed mildly entertaining as Bully with his swagg power walk and THe BIG GUY trollface. If he gets a little better in the ring, he will rise into my *average* category!^^

I think what people are either forgetting or not realizing is that WWE is trying to go for a long term story line here. Not just something that'll be finished within a month or two, but something that will last at least the rest of the year, if not to Mania itself.


For such a story line to work properly, the "New Corporation" needs to be built up as an effective heel force that's dominant. It gives them heat and makes them look like a credible threat so that, whenever a guy like Dolph Ziggler or Daniel Bryan gets a win over them, it'll look, feel, and be treated like a big deal. the heels need to be fully on top so that the faces can get sympathy and be built up by going against them.

The Shield being in this version of the Corporation just makes sense. Their unbeaten on PPV, have only lost a handful of tag matches, and have pinfall victories over some of the biggest stars in WWE today, including several world champs. It would be impossible to say that The Shield isn't effective or that it doesn't make sense for them to be there. They are mercenaries. I don't even think they themselves talk about "Justice" anymore anyway.

If DB could just go in and Hulk Smash the entire corporation every week, then there wouldn't be a point in the rest of the locker room being involved. I saw someone on my FB page mention that DB seems to be taking the "Heroes Journey" in that he's basically being brought down to rock bottom before he rises up again. Sadly, this does involve getting beat down most weeks.

The formula is simplistic, yet effective. The heels spend a few months being dominant and on top, the "resistance", in this case a group of superstars yet to be decided, if not the roster itself, will start gaining ground, making it more of a back and forth kind of war. Finally the third act, the tide turns and the Corporation finds things crumbling around them, with Orton losing his title most likely in the main event of Mania 30, and HHH probably having a match of his own to lose, possibly even against Daniel Bryan himself.

The biggest problem with this story, in my opinion, is that WWE is basically trying to cook a nice, thick, juicy, steak, and serve it to a fan base that is used to, and only accepts, the kind of 1 dollar McDoubles that take seconds to make and seconds to finish.


The OTHER problem with this story, again in my opinion, is that its ultimately going to be around a 4-6 month story line...and guess who's going to be back in 4-6 months?

Yep. I fully expect the fall of the New Corporation to come at the hands of John Cena, defeating Randy Orton in the main event of Wrestlemania 30 for the WWE Title.

But I totally get and agree with what you're saying. It's just... it's been three weeks, so you'd think they would have ended at least one of the six broadcasts with something different. But no, it's always just Daniel Bryan beaten on the mat or outside the ring, with Randy Orton and/or the Shield standing over him. And my problem is, it's getting boring. After the first week, I wanted to see Bryan get his payback. After the second week, I wanted to see it even more. Now after three weeks, I just kind of don't care. I'm not saying Daniel Bryan has to pull one over on Randy Orton and Triple H at the end of a show, just give me something new! Have them screw over, or embarrass, or shame Daniel Bryan in a different way! It's the exact same thing every week, and it's just making the storyline very dull.

But that's just me.

Oh and now that I think about it, Big Show's involvement in this storyline is very confusing to me. In the beginning I was wondering why he was doing what he was told, because of that iron clad contract of his. I ultimately just figured that I had my dates wrong, and a year had already passed, but then Stephanie made it very clear that the contract is still in effect, they just... changed the rules I guess? From what I remember, the contract allowed Big Show to do whatever the heck he wanted. Even if he was banned from the show, he'd still get paid. That's what he told Vince McMahon to his face, right? So... what gives? Just bad continuity?

I still like Face Show better than Heel Show though, so I'm glad they are changing that.

It's almost like they had forgotten about that contract storyline, and now they're backtracking and trying to explain it away.

Oh yeah, I like Big Show as a face too, but as long as he's an active wrestler it's pretty much a certainty that he'll always turn heel again. I'm having a hard time thinking of anyone who's flip flopped between Heel and Face as frequently as Show.
