SEEKING REVENGE - Rafael vs. Kevin

Kevin goes on the run after separating their bodies on the mat.  Rolling toward the ropes before popping up to his feet.  Hearing a fan yell…….

WATCH OUT KEVIN!

Turning as he rubs his neck and shoulder from the fall and gets caught with two solid feet plowing right into his unprepared pecs.

“OUFFFFFF”

Kevin grunts out as Rafael’s speed catches him off guard and sends his back into the corner.  He arches back as he steps out toward his opponent with his arms up to defend.  Trying to buy himself a few seconds to get his breath back and to let the pain in his back and chest fade from the impact.

Rafael sits up on his elbows as soon as he lands with eager eyes scanning and locking onto Kevin to see the aftermath of his dropkick. Perfectly aimed, perfectly executed, Rafael pumps his fist a single time in celebration before climbing rapidly to his feet so he can keep the heat up. Kevin's got his arms up to defend himself and is basically [i]asking[/b] Rafa to unload on him, or at least that's the way the body language translates to him.

"Let's see ya react to thissss!" he shouts as he closes on his cornered opponent with his own fists raised. Time for a bit of pugilism as Rafael looks to connect fists to torso as he strikes out randomly looking for bodyshots he can land around Kevin's guard. Whether or not he lands any strikes, his ending would remain the same as he holds his forearm out in front of himself and throws his weight forward for a mini-bodyslam to try and smash Kevin into the corner.

Eyes locked on his opponent with his tan muscle moving quickly, Kevin tries to block but the shots start to bounce around his raised arms. 

"UNN .. NHHH .. HNNN"

Not particularly damaging hits coming from Rafael, but distracting and keep him on the defense as some land and some get blocked.

"WTH Punk ... this isn't boxing"

Kevin responds as his core flexes tight to put up his shields.  Having enough of the shots as they start to ache, he brings a hard right elbow across to connect with the Brazilian studs head just as he surges in and plants Kevin back into the corner with a thud for the second time.

"OUUFFFF"

Stalled a few seconds by the hit before raising his right arm up over his head and trying to drop a second elbow to Rafael's head before he pulls back away from him.

Rafael grins widely as Kevin complains that they're not boxing. While that was definitely true there was nothing really preventing him from working in some shots like these, especially when they worked so well! He had him on the ropes here and despite Kevin landing a pretty decent elbow to the head, he was fighting through the pain to keep on coming. It's only when Kevin brings an arm up above his head to slam an elbow down does Rafael slow his roll and go on the defensive.

"Hrghh! Don't think so!" he grunts as he brings his hands up to catch Kevin's arm before it can slam into his head. He tries to tighten his hands into a proper grip so that he can get control of the arm. His instinct is to immediately go for an arm drag hip toss and flip Kevin out of the corner and slam him into the canvas.

“What goes up… ARGHH”

Stopped mid-sentence with a defiant growl coming out when Rafael shows off some ring savvy by blocking the falling elbow.  Kevin’s arm now in the dangerous grip of a martial arts practitioner.

“Nice abs dude!”

Kevin shouts out as he brings 1, 2, 3 hard right knee shots up into the unprotected bricks of his opponent.  His left hand coming up to grab onto Rafael’s right wrist to try and deleverage his grip to help free his trapped right arm.

Rafael bristles as he toils with trying to throw Kevin while the man clearly doesnt want to go anywhere. He gives the arm a quick tug-tug but finds the opportunity for the toss to be gone as the surprise of the moment is over. His opponent is also quick to get some return fire going as he starts thrusting his knee up towards Rafa's abs. "Erggh!" he grimaces as the knee shots make solid PLAP PLAP PLAPs as they dig into his midsection. His grip on Kevin's arm loosens as the blond latches on as well.

Rafael stubbornly refuses to give up his hold and instead tries to tug Kevin's arm downward while his free hand tries to find the back of Kevin's neck to try and pull him down. The aim was to work him into bending over where Rafael might be able to secure a more suitable hold via a standing guillotine.

Beginning to feel like he is in a half dance / half chess match now, Kevin can't help but grin as that's exactly what he likes in the ring.  In close with his skilled opponent and battling it out for control.

"WHOA!"

A cool hand grabs the back of his neck while the other keeps a tight grip on his left arm.  As his upper body starts to lean over, he gets the feeling that Rafael is looking to draw his head in against his side and bicep.

"Not what I had in mind.... UNGHH"

Kevin lands a quick heel stomp down to his opponent's right foot and then moves his right arm down to hook his hand behind the toned Brazilian's right thigh in an attempt to pull that leg up.  With a quick right step forward, Kevin looks to step his right foot behind Rafael's left so he can push back on the leg grip and send him down to his back.

"Arghh!" Rafael shouts in mixed pain and frustration as Kevin stomps the butt of his heel down the top of his foot. The foot comes off the ground with the pain reflex and a hand slides its way to the back of his thigh and begins to pull up, prompting him to hop to readjust his balance. Kevin then lurches forward and slides a foot behind Rafael's left to set up a quick takedown.

Rafael knew it was coming and couldnt stop it, but he could try and modify the landing at least. Once his leg is sweeped and he begins to fall back, he kicks out with the held leg and aims the ball of his heel at the center of Kevin's chest. Might slow him down a bit, might not, but Rafael could use the extra time to try and wriggle free from Kevin's grip and escape a ground game.

Kevin stays with Rafael as his leg trip takedown starts to send the judoka down to his back.  

“OUFFFFFF”

Taking a foot square to his muscled pecs in return making him reassess his options.  Wary of Rafael’s guard, Kevin pulls back to his feet and drives 1, 2 sharp toe kicks into the back of his opponent right thigh while he is still on his back with his leg raised.
