Russian Rules - Yelena Turova vs. Zoey Jae Oh

Grapple-Only Match

Rules: The match must take place in the AFW gym. Normal match rules apply. Strikes and kicks of any kind are prohibited.
Victory Conditions: Gained by either KO, pinfall, or submission from the opponent.
Stipulations: The loser becomes the winner’s punching bag until they leave the gym. The loser will have their attire removed before being restrained by the official.


“What the fuck is this shit?” Zoey shouted, flailing the pamphlet back and forth in the air.

“Your match.” The official before her stood with her arms crossed and eyelids hanging low. She was not at all in the mood for this.

“Yeah, I see that, but why the fuck is it in the gym? I don’t do sparring!”

Rookies were the worst. They truly were. “If you actually read the card, it specifically states that this is an official match and will be broadcast live nationally on all major programs. You can read, right?” Zoey scowled and took a stomp forward.

“You wanna go, shorty? I’ll kick you up and down this hall like a soccer ball. And hey, spoiler, I’m playing fuckin’ offense.”

She let out a sigh. “Any other...questions, Ms. Zoey?”

“Tch.” The situation clearly wasn’t going to get any better. She was stuck. “Fine. Sure. Where’s the ring at?”

The second the woman pointed down the hall towards the double doors, Zoey was storming her way to the gym. This was bullshit. Her debut hadn’t exactly gone according to plan, so she was eager to start making some more waves. Get the people back on her side before she recognized her. But even she had to admit that she was in no position to make demands.

Then again, maybe using some tough girl as a punching bag would be a good way to spread the word around. Yeah, yeah. That sounds more like it. That’d get her noticed. Tell management that she wasn’t someone who took no for answer. She wasn’t a sadist or nothin’, but maybe if she got a Heel nobody would feel that sour about it. Also, the pay was just too good this time around. The landlord was getting on her about rent.

Into the gym she walked. The place smelled like shit. She’d never been inside before. Never had a reason to. She was perfectly fine training on her own and not having someone jabber in her ear over every little mistake. Even so, she had to admit that the place looked impressive. State of the art equipment and clean floors. It was seemed pretty vacant, actually. The last few trainers looked like they were clearing as a skeleton crew of cameramen finished setting the stage. Guess they didn’t want too many onlookers getting in the way.

Either way, there was the ring. Zoey made her way over and slid under the bottom rope. She popped up to her feet and gave her shoulder a good couple rolls as she made her way to the ropes. She leaned back against them for a second, stretching her back out a bit, before pushing off them and hopping from one foot to the other. As lame as this may be, a fight was still a fight. She was getting amped. Time to see what moron thought it was a good idea to step into the ring with the Taekwondo master.

When Yelena had heard that the towering Russian was to fight against a Taekwondo master, the pink haired titan was intrigued, even if it was to be in a match away from prying eyes she was eager to see how her opponent would adapt to such a strange situation. "It is not as though being able to kick me would have done any good!" She joked with the agent, patting her impressive set of abs, as she confidently strutted her way down the corridor to the gym. Dressed in her blue sports bra and matching trunks, she made her way to through the double doors, soaking in the familiar smells of effort and triumph. 

"Hello." The powerlifter let out as she entered into the gym, spying the cameras pointing at the Korean woman in the ring. Without much thought or effort, Yelena pulled herself up to the apron, held the top rope down and hopped over, getting to move up close to Zoey before the match could begin "I hope you will make this entertaining. Perhaps if you are good, I may not pulverise you after my victory."

“Come on. Come oooonnnn.”

Maybe her opponent got cold feet. Wouldn’t be the first time it's happened. Hell, she’d be in the majority of people who’d gone up against Zoey if she chose to back out now. They all knew better. They knew what they were getting into. Zoey was a force to be reckoned with, and some girls knew  when they were just biting off more than they could ch-

Then the double doors flew open. In walked a mass of chiseled, Russian iron disguised as a woman. Zoey thought it was someone who’d been working the weights a moment ago and came back to get something.

Until she entered the ring.

She couldn’t even muster a response to the woman. Zoey was absolutely gobsmacked. This bitch must have two tons on her! And that was just counting the muscle! There was no way in hell she had to fight this thing. It was all a practical joke. Yeah, that was it. It was a prank. Just hazing the rookie. There was no chance she actually had to go toe to toe with this chick, right?

Nope. The referee was calling them to the center. This was for real. This was one hundred percent for goddamn real. Zoey hesitated for only a second before she met the woman in the center of the ring. Okay. This was going to be a little tough. But it wasn’t impossible. This woman had muscles. She had the confidence. She even had the accent down a T, too.

But she was Zoey Jae Oh. She could take on anyone at anytime. This chick was big, sure, but that meant she was also slow and dumb.

“You got some bubblegum in your hair there, Sergei. No worries, though. I’m an expert stylist." She cracked her knuckles. "Might be able to smack it off those strands once we're done here.”

Yelena rolled her eyes at Zoey's remarks, it seems this lady was going to be a wise guy instead tonight "Sergei... never heard that one before..." the power lifter growled, rolling her neck and flexing her shoulders "You will have to earn the right to 'smack me around a bit'. Come, let's see if your skills can cash the cheques your mouth writes." the Russian challenged, lifting her arms up to ready herself for this grappling contest

"Do not irritate me, little one. This can be a fair yet tough competition, or this can be your destruction." 

Zoey stepped forward and met her at the center. Yeah, this was going to be a bit of a toughie, but as she thought more about it, seeing herself ducking those arms and getting behind this wall of meat before hitting her where it hurts, the young Korean felt her confidence going way above what it was before. She could take this bitch. Just had to be smart about it. Brains beats brawn. That’s the rule.

“That a threat, Sergei? ‘Cause you're shit at trash talk. Stick to the squat rack and scaring all the men away with your rank. That’s something I bet you're good at.”

The bell rung and Zoey crouched low, pting to circle for a bit. Wait for an opening, maybe let the giant make the first move if she were so inclined. Going head-to-head was out of the question. Obviously. That means she’d either be going high or low. Depends on what her pink-haired friend had in mind.

While Yelena's smile had started off friendly enough, the Russian's grin was starting to get a seriously menacing edge to it as Zoey continued to trash the towering weight lifter. "It is a shame, I was hoping that this competition was going to be friendly between two top fighters. Too bad for you, I still get to have fun here as I wipe that smile off your face." the Pink haired powerhouse promised before she lunged forward, looking to scoop the Korean woman up into her muscular arms for a tight bear hug.

For such a big woman, she really had some sensitive feelings. Zoey just rolled her eyes as she kept jabbering on. As far as she was concerned, there was only one top fighter in this ring. And Yelena was about to find out very quickly.

“Are you here to fight, or cry like a baby-shit!”

Out of reflex, Zoey raised a fist, wanting to beat this woman’s face into red mush. Until she remembered the rules. Damn it.

“Gah! Let go!”

Zoey pushed back as best she could, trying to lessen whatever pressure she could off her back.  She saw how pointless that was in about two seconds. Instead, her hands moved up to the woman’s face. Not much strategy to it, just wanted to make some distance between them.

Well she can't say she didn't warn her. Zoey was clearly still in the mind of a striker in a grappling only match allowing Yelena ample opportunity to wrap the Korean loudmouth up in her massive arms. Her foe was trying to resist, pushing the pink haired powerhouse away by the jaw, but if that was the extent of her abilities to escape then this was going to be a very unpleasant time for her as Yelena doubled down on the bear hug, squeezing Zoey tightly. "Let's see if you scream as loud as you yap."

Fine. She misstepped. She could admit that. She was caught off guard and this woman was a little fast than she expected. No big deal. The match was still just starting. Could hardly be considered the end of the world. Didn’t stop Yelena from taunting her some.

“P...piss off. You got lucky.”

Clearly this wasn’t going to work. The woman’s massive arms was grinding her spine into saw dust. Getting away from her wasn’t going to happen by pushing. Maybe pulling would work. Zoey sprung forward and wrapped her arms around the Russian’s thick neck. At the same time, she wrapped her legs for a body scissors, trying to match the pressure tit-for-tat.

Yelena's squeezing wasn't having the effect she'd hoped for, Zoey was still talking shit so that meant she could still breathe... or the Korean woman had a small recorder to play back random phrases whenever she couldn't speak normally. What she could definately do without technological assistance was reach out and wrap the Russian in a hold of her own. "Ghk!" the pink haired powerhouse let out as she felt the self proclaimed TKD expert made her first real move of the match, and not a bad one at that.


Posturing up to try and get some of the pressure off the powerlifter looked as though she was a tree being grabbed by a Koala and the same rules that had let her scoop up the loud Korean without much resistance was now making it so she couldn't just smash her arm into Zoey to force her to let go. Yelena needed a new plan.

Sending one hand up to deal with the immediate problem around her neck, the Russian tried to position herself so she was facing one of the corners before making the slow build of speed into a run, aiming to crush Zoey between the turnbuckle pads and her own muscled form.
